The way I see it: this election was absolutely about TDKWhy would a group of prominent developers, lawyers, real estate, and mortgage people spend over $40,000 to get their candidate elected when they knew the only serious challenger (Steve Brown) would be spending NOTHING. I think there is one simple answer: making sure the TDK bridge and extension get built. Our town now has 4 completed villages: Aberdeen, Braelinn, Glenloch and Kedron. The 5th village, the West Village, is very important to the development community, and will eventually be built out in the next 5 years. But the master plan for the local development community includes a 6th village to be built out within 10 or so years: McIntosh Trail. MT, although it is not in PTC, is in effect our 6th village (look at a map). The long range plan for the development community is to have this $2.5 billion high density project going strong in the next few years (after our looming recession is over). This means that the TDK bridge is an ABSOLUTE must. Simply put, without a TDK bridge there can be no Mcintosh Trail. With voter turnout at less than 10%, TDK is sure to happen. Whether we like it or not, PTC is soon to be bisected by additional 4 lane roads and much more traffic. Golf carts, pedestrians, and bikers will have to be very careful when tens of thousands of Coweta people are driving through here. Christian's blog | login to post comments |
