sageadvice: A sad blog

I think Obama is right about those bitter working people who wrap themselves in some kind of religion (talk about abortions all the time; Muslims all the time, guns all the time), and think all government is terrible. Wear flags and pins, and call liberals free-loaders.

Mike King nailed the horrible Logsdon legacy in another post. I think King got a bad rap for being associated with Logsdon in the last election.

Cyclist: Cyclist and his accident

Cyclist's picture

Well, I knew that someday I would have to part paths with my little white truck. Yesterday, on the way back from my parent’s house in LaGrange, it finally happened. As I was eastbound on Greensville Rd. just a half-mile east of I85, a septic service truck, for whatever reason, drifted into my lane. I tried to get out of his way and was, for the most part, successful since it wasn’t a head-on. However, we did make contact – sideswipe- with extensive damage to the back of my little white truck. If this was a head-on collision the outcome would probably been very dire.

BPR: Pastor Calls Black Liberation Theology Divisive And Unscriptural

Bishop E.W. Jackson, Sr., a prominent black pastor and Christian activist, has launched a nationwide campaign to counter widely publicized remarks made by Dr. Jeremiah Wright, the former pastor of Barack Obama's church.

BPR: Black Liberation Theology Explained

Black pastor and author Bishop E.W. Jackson says many African-American civil rights leaders promote anti-Biblical ideas like those espoused by Senator Barack Obama's former pastor.

Just thought I would start a chit chat, for Whatever you want.

thebeaver: Keep it up, Barack!

You're really winning the hearts & minds of the hearland with comments like this:

"You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years. ... And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't **like them** or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

sageadvice: The Bush-Petraeus report

Is there anyone except me who thinks all this congressional testimony stuff, and Presidential news conferences about Iraq had been decided weeks ago?

sageadvice: What school teaches this stuff?

I'm talking about Law enforcement offices in the USA.
Today I happened to watch the Sheriff of one NC county call a news conference to announce (actually the FBI announced the arrest) the capture in Mexico of a man wanted by the FBI (ten most wanted list) who they intend to charge with the murder of a female Marine.

Disgrace in Detroit

"This appears to be a case of circling the wagons: Wright, a black man, is under attack, so the NAACP, an organization that seeks the advancement of black people, is defending him. In doing so, the NAACP is committing an analytical and moral error. Wright is under attack not for the color of his skin, but for the content of his ideas. To defend him is to countenance those ideas. Through its actions, the NAACP is in effect arguing that anti-Americanism is acceptable, so long as its source is black. The association is sanctioning both invidious ideas and an invidious racial double standard."

I understand the concerns of the taxpayers and can relate. Would the concern be so great if Clayton Co families paid to attend schools in other counties? The students in that County are being punished for the poor decisions of arrogant adults, which is just as unfair to them as taxes are to us.

"How deranged would you have to be to cite this incident as evidence that your grandmother thought like a "typical white person" -- as opposed to your grandfather being worthless and lazy? For those keeping score, Obama is aghast at his grandmother's alleged racism, but had no problem with Jeremiah Wright's manifest racism.

metal strat: Mr Developer GET A CLUE

The reason the new home market is in shambles is because banks were practically forced by liberal federal mandates to give almost anyone a home loan whether they could afford it or not.The county should stand firm on square footage requirements and not budge one inch! The only thing that will fix this problem is to let the forclosures wash out and then return to a practice of 15 to 20 percent down on a home loan!I am a victim of this downturn myself. After 20yrs in residential construction in fayette and surrounding counties I find myself looking for a new career, not to government to fix my problems! If you want fayette to look like clayton county start building smaller homes on smaller lots and watch what happens then.

Suppose we rebuild or repair the Police Station right where it is, and then it molds and de-laminates again?
Then what we will have to do is to repair the repairs, so that no one gets blamed for an original bad building! That is unless the builder who repairs the repairs will put aside money to guarantee the integrity of the repair of the repair!

A Barack Obama delegate to the Democratic National Convention was "ticketed for calling her neighbor's African-American children 'monkeys,' " reports the Chicago Sun-Times.
