The Bush-Petraeus report

Is there anyone except me who thinks all this congressional testimony stuff, and Presidential news conferences about Iraq had been decided weeks ago?
How else could they all say the same thing, even in what little detail was given, if not already determined?

The announced changes, or new plans, are:
Everyone assigned to combat duty after August won't have to stay but one year; and, we should then end up late this year with about the same nuumber we had last year.
Then we plan to wait several weeks and then decide what else if anything to do.

The republicans are meekly trying to save as many seats as possible in the November elections with this plan. If it were to be announced exactly what the plan was, they would all lose and the terrorists would just wait out the plan.
Not that the terrorists seem to care much anymore about our plans anyway!

I hate to see the Commanders of the war getting involved with politics, but I suppose it is like Cheney said: "we go to war with what we have," or something like that. He has had five years to get what he wanted but hasn't seemed to have found it! This is the same guy who said "so," when told that 80% of the adult Americans thought the war had been screwed up.

Oil, folks, it is all about oil! From day one. Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia are where the bombers came from.

Anybody listening to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, lately? How about the Southern Command, Commander?

No, they are not, because if Bush and Cheney said what they are really thinking, they would both be impeached within 30 days.

If you really disliked the military in politics you and the other rats would not have drug the military into the political realm.

Cobb official alleges conspiracy to force her out of office

"Regarding her allegation that there is a conspiracy to force Kesting out of office, Olens said: "The only thing the county government is involved in is providing outstanding customer service at the lowest possible tax rate."

Olens also suggested that Kesting should meet personally with the white female county employees she talked about during her church speech and apologize to them."

It's always someone else's fault. How convenient.
