Pastor Calls Black Liberation Theology Divisive And Unscriptural

Bishop E.W. Jackson, Sr., a prominent black pastor and Christian activist, has launched a nationwide campaign to counter widely publicized remarks made by Dr. Jeremiah Wright, the former pastor of Barack Obama's church.

Bishop Jackson is a minister in Chesapeake, Virginia, and a former high-level official in the Christian Coalition. He says Wright's comments are not only anti-American, but also run counter to scripture. "For example, when [Wright] says God d**** America ... people have used the prophets to justify that. The prophets never cursed Israel. They called Israel to account for sin, but they never cursed Israel," Jackson notes.

Wright's anti-Israel bias, according to Jackson, was also displayed last year when Wright's church -- Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ -- honored Nation of Islam head Louis Farrakhan. Bishop Jackson says there are only two possible explanations for Wright's behavior. "Either Jeremiah Wright is very deeply and profoundly spiritually confused; or frankly, the man just does not know Christ. He's a professional pulpiteer, not a true Christian spiritual leader," Jackson contends.

Jackson encourages Christians across the country to stand against Wright's divisive comments. "We need to love one another and not allow what's happened with Jeremiah Wright to cause us in any way to walk away from what we know is our commitment to love each other regardless of race, color or creed," says the pastor. "I believe that one of the most profoundly important things Dr. [Martin Luther] King [Jr.] said was 'Judge one another not by the color of our skin, but by the content of our character.'"

A Harvard Divinity School graduate, Jackson says Wright's comments represent a radical liberation theology which is heretical in many ways. He believes it is vital for Christians to be educated about the candidates and their beliefs and stances on moral and cultural issues.

Keep up the good work.

Hopefully the "black liberation hate theology" will go underground like the kkk and other hate groups. Once they realize that people are onto them they all take their hate underground to avoid criticism.

Thanks for reminding us that hate is never right or based on the scripture.

Thanks for you comment. BLT is like the KKK- see we are not to proud to say KKK is wrong and is a hate group, says alot about our character.

I can't believe that someone that hears and reads all this still supports Obama- who by the way his church took off a few little things, they don't have to worry I have it. Wow, the calls they must be getting.

Have a nice day.!

"BLT is like the KKK- "

Okay BPR: You often avoid answering the tough questions, but I'll just bring two.

1) How many blacks and / or Jewish people attend KKK rallies?

2) How many blacks / Jewish people speak of the love and warm greetings they receive from KKK members?

Keep up the good fight BPR. You'll one day be able to say, "well, he's not MY President!"

I enjoyed my day today with my family, that is very important.

Wow, you sure do care for people in a strange way.Puzzled Making fun of people is that enjoyable for you? You can't deny it, it's below where you do that. I hope you taught your kids not to do that. I make sure that my son does not make fun of people. You always reap what you sow.

Yes, you have said that you don't care for me:

Is that better? Good. Now, that being settled, I do care about a straight answer, so I'll ask again:

What has Obama said that needs defending? What words from the mouth of Barack Obama with respect to faith need defending?

Cheers to you, whether you like it or not

And you proved your point with this comment about making fun.

*BPR, it's hard going on attack mode as a sensative person

but I thought Yard's question was a valid one, as you have placed yourself in the judge a faith seat many a post. Anyway, I know you are big on truth and consistency. Soooo, if you ask someone if they know how to read and comprehend what they are reading, it will help if you know how to write. Otherwise, we are left unsure of what we have just read.

Can you see my point? It's okay if you can't. But if i right lick thes, i mabee cant critisize others reeding.

What a guy- How do you have a wife if you show your care like you did to me?Laughing out loud

What's going to be your defense now?Puzzled

Where have you told me that you care for me?Shocked

Your the one that goes on about race all the time. BTW Obama is not black he's black and white. I don't care if he is orange and green. It's what he stand for and his belief system of BLT.

My husband said he is going to give me a picture of President George W. Bush right before he's out of office because we both think that he has done an outstanding job. We are going to put it on our wall.

BLT and KKK- speech is hate. Read and listen again to all I posted.
Like I said I am not too proud to admit it, it's wrong, just like BLT is wrong.

Have a nice day

I gotta go enjoy the day with my husband and son.Smiling

For those of you counting, this is the 13th blog entry by BPR in two weeks criticizing Obama's church. Can someone say "obsession"? Sticking out tongue

I actually took a look at Obama's church's website, and was surprised to see a wealth of Christian ministries sponsored by the church
Barack Obama's church's ministries

This made me wonder what particular ministries does the Southern Baptist church that BPR belong to have (if any)?
