sageadvice: Hidden Superiority

I am a bus driver--I am important you see
My company has raced like a dog with me.

Now I hear that cabbies want to make more

ShortField: Dust in the Wind

It is becoming that time of year again. The grass is growing and the rain is stopping. The ground is drying out and becoming dusty.

Arf: Fayette Shopping?

I can’t really figure out why Fayette County has become the shopping mecca of the world. I guess other areas just don’t have the concentration of stores, but things have certainly changed out there in Fayetteland and it’s hard to tell what the attraction is.

birdman: Delta Pilot Haters

birdman's picture

I would like to apologize to those of you that hate me because I fly airplanes. I don't know what it is that elicits this dislike, but speaking only for myself, I am sorry I did something that made you hate me so much.

sageadvice: Unfair Tax

Today in the AJC, Jay Bookman's opinion has summarized the idiotic so-called "fair tax" proposals some keep introducing into congress for laughs, I suppose---or to sell books.

oldbeachbear: Banks' ties to legislators run deep in foreclosure crisis

By ALAN JUDD

Published on: 06/01/08

A crisis awaited Georgia legislators last January. Mortgage foreclosure notices in metro Atlanta had increased by nearly a third in a year, and the state ranked third nationally in seriously delinquent home loans.

The sparrow does not worry
While he flits from bug to worm
And seldom does he tarry
But exhibits his magnificent form.

sageadvice: How are the mussells doing?

Atlanta's water supply, Lake Lanier, is about 14 feet below full yet and not much rain can be expected this summer. Evaporation doesn't help either.

honestguy4: GitReal: in need of a Reality Check

GitReal says: “As the Citizen previously reported, the subpoena was never filed with the court and served to Ballard AS REQUIRED. If it had been, the Prosecuting District Attorney would have known about it. Here is what District Attorney Mulholland had to say in regards to Softy Ballard’s phony subpoena appearance:

Git Real: DishonestGuy4Ballard’s Phony Subpoena Lie

Git Real's picture

Here we go again. Git responding to some 5 hour old lawyer / campaign blogger hack who attempts to lay out another drive by defense of our Soft On Crime District Attorney - Mr. Softy Ballard. In this blog we address the issue of the Phantom Subpoena morphing into a Phony Subpoena. Let's go....

honestguy4: DA Ballard’s FEW Antagonists

I can’t understand why some, in the interest of honesty and full disclosure, haven’t posted the link to the Subpoena DA Ballard received requiring him to appear at the probation violation hearing for Allen?

TonyF: The Swingin' Medallions

TonyF's picture

I went to the Villages Ampitheatre Saturday night to see(again) The Medallions and they were great. Played their hit(s) and a lot of their contemporaries music. The last time they visited, toward the end of the show, they played a lot of new music which did not please us. This visit, however, they stuck to the 60's and 70's and it was very groovy. Did anyone else attend? If not, you missed a great show.

sageadvice: What is it with Tyrone?

When I came to PTC, route 74 went right through the middle of Tyrone.
I haven't been through there all the way since the by-pass was built.

zoes: The Ego of the new Clayton School Superintendent

sageadvice: For all you "positive" thinkers

I'm sure our local taxes, in spite of inflation and recession, will be extremely fair this fall. What else could they be but fair no matter how much they continually increase every year. We have fair people setting those budgets, don't we? Of course we do.

sageadvice: Property Taxes

The Citizen had another one of those articles again this year commenting upon what our taxes may cost next time, but as usual it was unclear!

sageadvice: Here Piggy!

BBQ sauce! Wow! makes my pork so succulent,
To my body it is so absorbent.

The three sugars and molasses,
Will certainly help with the gases!

My father will be in town visiting and said he wanted to eat out at Smokey Bones. DH says it is closed and has been for a while.

hoppette: Huddleston Pond Progress....

The big equipment left over a month ago and this project has seemed to come to a halt. We're left looking at a huge mess.

GetaLife: Regarding Bad Rap for Tyrone Tornadoes

I am a first time writer, however I feel the need to state my opinion regarding these Blogs concerning the "Tyrone Tornadoes coach" (that is not being named) but is being given a bad rap due to ignorance.

PTC_factchecker: Is Peachtree City slipping in the "Top 100" rankings?

Sometimes I get bored. That's when I come online and read the musings that sometimes are confused with news articles on The Citizen.

going to be hurt by the new math curriculum that Kathy Cox has introduced. Why did she push a program that has failed in many other states? Did she have a financial gain by implmenting this new program? Average and lower students are failing, and gifted students are failing in the advanced levels.

sageadvice: Another Book!

The former press secretary for President Bush has written his book (as they all seem to do who leave) but it is somewhat different.

sageadvice: Fayette Politics

I have been trying to figure out why so many former Georgia Democrats of old are now calling themselves Republican. Or Libertarian

yardman5508: So you say you’re a Republican

yardman5508's picture

The reality of the American political system is that, today, a voter has the choice of voting either Republican or Democrat. It would, conceivably, be nice to have a number of valid choices from which to choose when voting. As much as Bob Barr might like it to be so, our next President will either be a Republican or a Democrat.

oldbeachbear: for us on the fence Obama vs McCain

War
McCain supports the decision to invade Iraq and vows to keep U.S. troops there until the war is won. He recently said 2013 was a reasonable date for achieving that goal and ending U.S. involvement.

I'm afraid my first posting of this question has been buried in blogs past. Again, for the record, I am asking:

Did you play any role in contacting a fellow blogger's employer with ideas and thoughts they had made anonymously?
