The E-SPLOST money cannot be used for operations. By law, the E-SPLOST money can only be used for technology, buses, books, security, building improvements, and property tax relief. It gives me great comfort to know that any future school boards cannot declare an emergency and repurpose the money as it is in “the lock box”.

Should McCain win the election, his transition team will be headed up by his buddy John Lehman, former Navy secretary in the Reagan administration. I'd like to remind Mr Brilliant that you don't have to be "brilliant" to know that a 74% graduation rate is a parenting problem, not a school/government problem.

This is fresh, from the Associated Press--Just heard that Sarah Palin took her husband and kids along to "official" trips and events in New York and Europe----nothing wrong with family trips. The bad thing is that she paid for these trips (air tickets, hotels and meals) with taxpayer's money from the State of Alaska. Not only that, but when questioned, she actually made the State accountants CHANGE and ammend her expense reports and the description of charges to make them appear "official".

I grew up in a southern town where we had a local ice rink open during the winter months and my friends and I really enjoyed it. Though the facility is a lot nicer, the Kedron hockey rink has always reminded me of my hometown ice rink and I've occasionally wondered what it would take, should PTC citizens be willing, to support seasonal ice skating at Kedron. But all of the lamentations I've heard about the lack of an ice rink here have been limited to those in my own head, so I've never brought it up.

Vote NO on amendment 2 on the November 4th ballot. The Georgia Supreme Court has stated that our constitution meant for school tax money to be used for schools and nothing more. This amendment would allow developers to tap into this money for their own use. Our schools should not be short changed in order for developers to line their pockets. We need to be doing everything possible to enhance our schools. Why would our legislators even put such an amendment on the ballot? To pay back their big contributors? After all, school children can't vote. But, their parents, grandparents, etc can--so vote against this amendment and let's leave our school tax money where it belongs--for the schools.

Howard Stern had a piece on his show that exposed what many people already knew. Obama supporters really have no clue what he stands for and are voting for him becuse he's black.

Here is my reply to Mr. Haas’ letter of 8/19/08

When I initially wrote to The Citizen re Mr. Haas’ book, it was not my intention to engage in a prolonged dialogue with him, but I do feel that a reply to his letter is called for. In Mr. Haas’ opening paragraph, he implies that I am an apologist for the CIA, and I can’t let that go unchallenged. May I suggest that he, or anyone, who thinks I am an apologist for the CIA read my two books.

The founders of the United States were brilliant human beings who developed and left us a framework for existence that we continue to ignore to our detriment. The framework I am talking about, of course, is the Constitution. In the current economic crisis, the regime in D.C. is ignoring it by devising new ways to “stabilize” our economy. The harmful effects of which are already appearing.

I don't know if anyone read my last blog entry, so I will again say that any Rep or Senator who voted yes to the bailout bill should be voted out of office with extreme prejudice!

Today (Monday, October 20) is the day when Georgia law calls for the SPLOST campaign committee known as Fayette Citizens for Children to file its financial report (contributions, expenses) with the Fayette Board of Elections.

Vote Paul Poole out of office! He is slimy, greedy, and completely not trust-worthy. A truely bad man.

Been a bad week for the Citizen blog!

Nothing about the wars; nothing about Guantanamo; nothing about the banks and stock market; and nothing about Jobs!

Will those who have worked diligently so many years to dispose of the Social Security system, which helps with our retirement, please step forward and explain why many people's 401-k accounts are down about 30%? It may go down to being worth just 30% before it thinks about going back up 70%!

Does anyone know where and when today?
