Fred Garvin: Trick-or-Treat Democratswalker3: The Audacity of ThuggeryNeilSullivan: E-SPLOST SAVES Money for OperationsThe E-SPLOST money cannot be used for operations. By law, the E-SPLOST money can only be used for technology, buses, books, security, building improvements, and property tax relief. It gives me great comfort to know that any future school boards cannot declare an emergency and repurpose the money as it is in “the lock box”. Bonkers: Joe The PlumberFirst, Joe didn't have a chance of buying the plumbing business where he worked--at least so said the owner! Joe told Obama that he was planning to buy it, and his taxes would go up under Obama. Git Real: House Democrats Contemplate Abolishing 401(k) Tax BreaksMy gosh.. we already have a failed Social Security program and now we're going to institute a second one. bowser: QUESTIONS FOR NICOLEMs. File: The Crime Dog: ESPLOST and FileIt's almost comical the parallels between Nicole File and our Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin: 1. Both snuck into their races at the last minute. Fred Garvin: Wonder How the Dems Will Finance All the New Giveaways? The Shadow: FROM DEMOCRACY TO OLIGARCHYThe American Republic was established 225 years ago whereby the people selected representatives to protect their rights and run their government for the best interests of everyone. That system is dead, corrupted by our representatives (politicians) for their own selfish interests. malloryhu: The Civil War presented by the Twilight TheatrePlease be sure to come out and see The Civil War presented by The Twilight Theater! Performances are on November 14, 15, 21, and 22, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. Main Stream: "Tailhook" Party Boy to Head Up McCain Transition TeamShould McCain win the election, his transition team will be headed up by his buddy John Lehman, former Navy secretary in the Reagan administration. For those not familiar with John Lehman, he was an active particpant in the infamous Tailhook parties, one in particular that was written about in the 1995 book, Fall from Glory: The Men Who Sank the U.S. Navy, by Greg Vistica, the San Diego Union-Tribune reporter who broke the Tailhook scandal. NeilSullivan: $1,000 FCBOE ComputersDear Neighbors: A number of people have discussed the amount FCBOE says it needs per computer. We have found an analysis in the public record by Mr. Curt Cearley FCBOE IT Director that compares a school standard "enterprise" computer vs. a computer purchased at a big box and what it would take and cost to get the big box computer to FCBOE standard. DarthDubious: GA Reps and Senators Voting Yes for Bailout: Vote Them Out!!!The following traitors should be voted out of office as soon as possible, all are up for re-election except Senator Isakson: Fred Garvin: The Obama National AnthemFred Garvin: Archives prove Obama was a New Party memberforteiii: RE 74% Graduation RateI'd like to remind Mr Brilliant that you don't have to be "brilliant" to know that a 74% graduation rate is a parenting problem, not a school/government problem. DragNet: Palin's latest scandalThis is fresh, from the Associated Press--Just heard that Sarah Palin took her husband and kids along to "official" trips and events in New York and Europe----nothing wrong with family trips. The bad thing is that she paid for these trips (air tickets, hotels and meals) with taxpayer's money from the State of Alaska. Not only that, but when questioned, she actually made the State accountants CHANGE and ammend her expense reports and the description of charges to make them appear "official". Citizen_Steve: Ice RinkI grew up in a southern town where we had a local ice rink open during the winter months and my friends and I really enjoyed it. Though the facility is a lot nicer, the Kedron hockey rink has always reminded me of my hometown ice rink and I've occasionally wondered what it would take, should PTC citizens be willing, to support seasonal ice skating at Kedron. But all of the lamentations I've heard about the lack of an ice rink here have been limited to those in my own head, so I've never brought it up. MYTMITE: Vote No on Amendment 2Vote NO on amendment 2 on the November 4th ballot. The Georgia Supreme Court has stated that our constitution meant for school tax money to be used for schools and nothing more. This amendment would allow developers to tap into this money for their own use. Our schools should not be short changed in order for developers to line their pockets. We need to be doing everything possible to enhance our schools. Why would our legislators even put such an amendment on the ballot? To pay back their big contributors? After all, school children can't vote. But, their parents, grandparents, etc can--so vote against this amendment and let's leave our school tax money where it belongs--for the schools. TyroneTerror: The Obama - Palin Ticket in HarlemHoward Stern had a piece on his show that exposed what many people already knew. Obama supporters really have no clue what he stands for and are voting for him becuse he's black. John F. Sullivan: My reply to Mr. Haas’ letter of 8/19/08Dear Sir: Here is my reply to Mr. Haas’ letter of 8/19/08 When I initially wrote to The Citizen re Mr. Haas’ book, it was not my intention to engage in a prolonged dialogue with him, but I do feel that a reply to his letter is called for. In Mr. Haas’ opening paragraph, he implies that I am an apologist for the CIA, and I can’t let that go unchallenged. May I suggest that he, or anyone, who thinks I am an apologist for the CIA read my two books. The Truth Will ...: Obama is off to Hawaii this week? Ummmmmm?Hawai’i Supreme Court asked to issue emergency writ opening secret Obama birth files DarthDubious: The Road to Hell is Paved...Well You Know...The founders of the United States were brilliant human beings who developed and left us a framework for existence that we continue to ignore to our detriment. The framework I am talking about, of course, is the Constitution. In the current economic crisis, the regime in D.C. is ignoring it by devising new ways to “stabilize” our economy. The harmful effects of which are already appearing. DarthDubious: Throw the bums out!!!I don't know if anyone read my last blog entry, so I will again say that any Rep or Senator who voted yes to the bailout bill should be voted out of office with extreme prejudice! Bonkers: BAILOUT!I want my bailout, bailout, bailout mapleleaf: SPLOST report due todayToday (Monday, October 20) is the day when Georgia law calls for the SPLOST campaign committee known as Fayette Citizens for Children to file its financial report (contributions, expenses) with the Fayette Board of Elections. ahill: Corrupt CommissionerVote Paul Poole out of office! He is slimy, greedy, and completely not trust-worthy. A truely bad man. Nitpickers: Drunken Cheerleaders! Pregnant females! Abortion!Been a bad week for the Citizen blog! Nothing about the wars; nothing about Guantanamo; nothing about the banks and stock market; and nothing about Jobs! Nitpickers: Step forward, please! Will those who have worked diligently so many years to dispose of the Social Security system, which helps with our retirement, please step forward and explain why many people's 401-k accounts are down about 30%? It may go down to being worth just 30% before it thinks about going back up 70%! suggarfoot: Smola and File debate? |
