Fair Share: Top 5% of tax payers paying 10-20% of income in taxes
95% of tax payers paying 20-38% of income in taxes. (Percentages are not accurate - just for discussion) Is that 'fair'?

Redistribution: Taking money from 5% of tax payers - and giving it to 95% of tax payers. Is that fair?

On Halloween, I'm going to give the young folk a taste of what the rest of their lives will be like if obama is elected POTUS.

When 3 or more kids show up at my door, instead of handing out candy, I'm going to look into each of their bags. I'll take candy out of the child's bag with the most candy, and redistribute it to the other childrens bags until each bag has equal amounts.

After the child who used to have the most candy stops crying, I'll tell them "Get used to it kids - this is what the rest of your life will be like when obama becomes President."

What the children will learn is that they stopped at a kook's house. A scary scenario.

Exactly my point!

obama is a kook and an income redistribution socialist!!!

Growing up in a large family you learn quite early about sharing. All of my siblings and I would always go trick or treating every year until we were too old. On arriving home my Mother would take all of our candy and goodies and place all of it in a large bowl and put it up in the cabinet. She would say now we can all share in the goodies at the appropriate time, as in after dinners. Of course, being kids, we would try to eat as much as possible before arriving home.

I don't know any different, sharing has always been a part of my life and I tried to instill that in my children and I hope they do the same to their children, my Grandchildren. That is as it should be but some people just don't understand that concept.

My parents were Republican's so maybe that is why they always took the best chocolate bars and Reese's butter cups for themselves, and left us with the scraps, usually the Dum-Dum suckers and stale tootsie rolls. Sad

You made me laugh and it reminded me of a story my Mom use to tell us kids. My Mom was the oldest of 8 kids. Her parents were divided on their politics. Her Mom, my Grandmother, was a republican, her Dad, my Grandfather, was a democrat. When ever there was a little family squabble her dad would say to all the kids, Ok all the little democrats who side with me come to my side and all the little republicans who side with your Mom, go over to your Moms side. My Mom who was a daddy's girl always sided with her Dad along with her 5 brothers. The two other sisters always sided with their Mother and to this day are still staunch republicans. My Grandmother loved Herbert Hoover so much she named one of her sons, Herbert Hoover, of course My Mom told me she probably did it to aggravate her Dad...Other than this little idiosyncrasy they were a wonderful fun loving family.

My Aunt's I'm sorry to say only watch Faux News and the only talk show around their area is icky Rush. I don't think it would make any difference with them...they don't care who's running as long as they are republican. They're in their 80's, so no changing their minds. They are two of the most wonderful, loving Aunt's, and I would not want to change a thing about them, even they're politics.

I am usually successful at not finding amusement in someone's misfortunes, but I did laugh heartily at your story. Please forgive me.

Yup, it's weird isn't it?

I mirrored my parents politics for years, even voting for Reagan...twice. And then I grew up and started thinking for myself.

My mom was a card-carrying member of the John Birch Society and she would drag us kids to SDS meetings and Black Panther rallies in Berkeley, Calif. back in the 1960's, where she even got up to speak once and railed against their liberal views. I respect her still, but don't follow her political views at all and have had to bite my tongue for years around her, while she rants against liberals - oh well. The first thing she does when she gets up in the morning is listen to Rush and Fox News. Shocked

A card carrying John Bircher at a Black Panther rally!! Your mom had GUTS!! Smiling Oh for the days when one could discuss ideas without getting the barrage of personal attacks. (Of course in the 60's - you had to pick your discussion groups. Berkeley was more open to discussing controversial issues - and far more tolerant than the rest of the country. We're always going to benefit from the ideas of the conservatives and the liberals. It's the radicals of both groups that we have to watch out for.

come by my house and I will make sure you get all the good, gooey, chocolate candy--only the best. I may even sneak in a McCain/Palin bumper sticker for you. LOL

Forgive your Mother, for she knows not what she does! Moms, we have to love them while we have them regardless of their beliefs.
