Palin's latest scandal

DragNet's picture

This is fresh, from the Associated Press--Just heard that Sarah Palin took her husband and kids along to "official" trips and events in New York and Europe----nothing wrong with family trips. The bad thing is that she paid for these trips (air tickets, hotels and meals) with taxpayer's money from the State of Alaska. Not only that, but when questioned, she actually made the State accountants CHANGE and ammend her expense reports and the description of charges to make them appear "official".

NOW---> Isn't this simple and plain CORRUPTION? CORRUPTION IT IS, BY ANY DEFINITION.

So much for a "maverick" who is trying to impress us all with clear credentials. No wonder she is trying to distract everybody with name calling and lunatic arguments.

As for McCain's honesty go to YouTube and watch this: (copy and paste)

It's over. This is the worst Republican ticket after George Bush and Dick Cheney, more of the same...we can't afford it.

Probably the most powerful ad I've seen yet:

I heard about Palin's family trips this morning on the news and her trying to cover her tracks by changing the expense reports. And she is touting the message of being a "reformer"who will change Washington?

New polls are coming out that show she is more of a drag on McCain's campaign now, than McCain's association with Bush. I'll bet he is regretting his decision to choose her.... too late now.

Good Grief! Sounds like an effort to take the attention off of Biden's latest Gaffe. I'm sure if the McCain camp started digging around in any of the Obama or Biden expense reports there would be some things that would raise eyebrows.
It blows my mind that people are so harsh on Palin and totally overlook every gaffe of Biden.
I don't think she's a drag on McCain's campaign at all. A whole lot of people like her and respect her.

It wasn't a gaffe, it was historically based truth which is why it has no traction. The McCain camp knows it but what else do they have, right? As for Biden, he gets the benefit of the doubt because of his 26 years of service and his chairmanship of the Foreign Relations Committee. People can look at that and decide whether he knows what he's talking about. Palin has proved to be a completely empty vessel without the curiosity to have followed world affairs enough to even pass an interview on FOX even if they give her the questions in advance. What would happen if two of Palin's advisers disagreed? Heads we bomb Iran, tails we don't?

They (McCain's camp) didn't dig into the opposition's expense report(s). They chose instead to attempt to make outlandish, six degrees of association connections to religious and fanatical organizations. This say a lot about character to me. The arrogance to even do this knowing it's wrong and THEN attempt a post cover up? This country is in a financial and moral freefall and these are the choices we're stuck with to right the sinking ship?! Neither party instills much confidence for me.

Fascinating story out this morning about how Sarah Palin spent $150,000 in Republican campaign contributions last month on personal wardrobe for herself and her family.

Caribou Barbie is expensive to outfit!!

$75,000 spent at Needless Markup...err, Neiman Marcus
$50,000 spent at Saks Fifth Avenue
$4,000 on makeup (less than McCain!)
$5,000 on the First Dude's wardrobe
$300 on designer baby togs for prop baby Trig Palin
$200 for a baby stroller

I was suprised to learn that these expenditures are perfectly legal as campaign expenses!! No wonder McCain is running out of money for TV ads.

So the "small town" gal doesn't shop in the small towns for her wardrobe, huh? I really like the pic of her young daughter Piper carrying a Louie Vuitton bag. How much are those anyway? Probably as much as the average monthly mortgage payment, don't ya think?

How 'bout fixing this guy up with a new wardrobe, or at least a new pair of shoes:
