has been 38 years since Fayette County High School brought a state
championship trophy home to their hallways. In 1964 the school's varsity
baseball team won the state title. Now the 2002 Lady Tigers varsity
softball team are state champs.

swimmers won their second meet in a row with a first-place finish
at the Halloween Invitational in LaGrange on Oct. 26. The previous

City Paddlers canoe and kayak club's annual meeting will be held Sunday,

Aida'
returns to Atlanta as a success
In
1998, Atlanta got the first taste of the show that woul become the smash
Broadway musical from Disney, "Aida." It was called "Elaborate
Lives: the Legend of Aida" and was written by Elton John and Tim
Rice, who teamed up to write the music for Disney's other huge Broadway
hit, "The Lion King." Now, "Aida" returns to the
city that nurtured it at the beginning for a three week run at the Fox
Theatre.
