Development disclosure to be required before selling home in PTC?

The Peachtree City City Council will consider renewing its moratoriums on annexations and multi-family housing rezonings at its regular council meeting Thursday night.

Both moratoriums must be renewed on an annual basis to remain in effect. They hinder developers from submitting any requests for an annexation or a multi-family housing rezoning.

Council is also slated to consider an ordinance that would require a homeowner to provide a disclosure statement to potential buyers that would notify them of the limitations for development, redevelopment and expansion of the property.

The form would include details about the setbacks for the property, any easements and any restrictive covenants that are in affect.

Council will also consider variance requests from Centex Homes to place fill material within the 100-year flood area of Flat Creek on three lots in the Wilshire Estates subdivision off Ga. Highway 74 south.

City staff is recommending approval of the variances since the encroachment into the floodplain will not adversely affect the flooding characteristics of Flat Creek.
