Free parent seminar Nov. 21

The Fayette County Parent Mentor Program will host its second training seminar of the year Nov. 21 from 7-9 p.m. at the LaFayette Educational Center in room B-210.

The topic will be "An Overview of Special Education and the IEP Process." The seminar is free and open to the public.

The guest speaker is Lee Ann Scott, director of the South Metro Georgia Learning Resource System (GLRS). Scott has taught at every grade level and many different exceptionalities over the past 19 years. Her experience includes specific learning disabilities, Autism, intellectual disabilities, significantly developmentally delayed and emotional/behavioral disorders. Scott has also served as assistant special education director for Crawford County for three years. He has been with Metro South GLRS for two years.
