SCAT wins Halloween Invitational SCAT swimmers won their second meet in a row with a first-place finish at the Halloween Invitational in LaGrange on Oct. 26. The previous weekend SCAT won the Georgia Southwestern Invitational in Americus. In the spirit of Halloween, the more than 70 SCAT swimmers entered in the LaGrange meet raced while wearing bright orange jack-o-lantern swim caps. "With our new caps, it was a blur of orange racing down the pool," Head Coach Jamey Myers said. SCAT outscored teams from LaGrange, Rockdale County, Macon, Milledgeville and Troup County. "Every child who participated scored points for the team either individually or on a relay," Myers said. More than a dozen SCAT swimmers won high-point awards for their individual age categories. Several swimmers set new SCAT team records, including: Lauren Cartwright, Casey DeRidder, Angela Gellatly, Billy Jamerson, Matthew Manley, Joseph Redmon, Julia Redmon and Nicole Roddenbery. Female swimmers with at least one top-ten finish include: Beth Allaire, Bailey Cartwright, Lauren Cartwright, Samantha Currenti, Sydney Currenti, Bailey DeRidder, Casey DeRidder, Caroline Evans, Pharan Evans, Lindsey Flynn, Bailey Garrot, MacKenzie Garrot, Angela Gellatly, Heather Jones, Sarah Larson, Lindsey Lochridge, Katie Mitchell, Kiersten Mossburg, Marilyn Naughton, Erica Pauly, Jessica Pratt, Kelsey Pratt, Julia Redmon, Nicole Roddenbery, Erica Sayers, Jordan Schumacher, Haley Smith and Julie White. Male swimmers with at least one top-ten finish include: Brandon Armstrong, Nathan Bernth, Vincent Bethel, Casey Blanchard, Noah Copeland, Matthew Ferguson, Kyle Goller, Kazuki Hamada, Daniel Hughes, Billy Jamerson, Alan Kim, Chris Lee, Andrew Love, Stephen Love, Thomas Lucak, Matthew Manley, Alex Menke, Peter Menke, Alex Naughton, Austin Pauly, Zach Payne, Joseph Redmon, SamChun Shimabe, Andrew Todd and Alec Vazquez.
