Georgia Southern hosts Open House

Georgia Southern University will host an Open House for prospective students and their parents Saturday, Nov. 9, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The activities will be centered at the Russell Union on the University campus in Statesboro.

"This is an excellent opportunity for college-bound students to visit the campus and gather information about the University," said Susan Davies, assistant director of admissions. "We'll provide campus tours, residence hall tours and information about all the University's academic and student programs."

The Open House will include presentations on important topics such as housing, honors programs, financial aid, transfer requirements, and a student and parent question-and-answer time. In addition, representatives from all the University's colleges and programs will be on hand for informal conversations, along with representatives from financial aid, University housing and other student services.

"We'll have people to provide information and answer just about any question a student or parent might have anything from the application process, financial aid and housing to the specifics about one of our more than 130 undergraduate degree programs," Davies said.

For further information, contact Georgia Southern's admissions office at 912-681-5391 or visit its web page at http://www2.gasou.edu/sta/adm/.
