Peachtree City has put together a bid package to host the start of next year’s Tour de Georgia bike race.

If the bid is approved, the city would host a number of pre-race events and an estimated 350 hotel rooms will be full for at least one night if not more, said Lauren Yawn, executive director of the Peachtree CIty Tourism Association.

The Coweta County School System is moving forward in its efforts towards ending a 1973 injunction surrounding racial issues.

Starting Monday, Coweta County and Senoia residents will see their outdoor watering times severely limited.

The Coweta County Commission voted Tuesday to impose level three drought water restrictions on county residents because of the lack of rain and Newnan Utilities implementation of the more severe restrictions.

Four Coweta County Schools are considered “Needs Improvement” schools under the federal No Child Left Behind Act, and will offer school choice options under some circumstances for the 2006-2007 school year.
