Fayette-Coweta commuters got their long-standing wish Thursday morning as Ga. Highways 54 and 34 were opened up with both lanes running in both directions. Finishing touches will still require some lane closures at times, but the lanes will be wide open for traffic during the 7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. commuter rush hours, officials said.
