Drought conditions worsenThu, 07/20/2006 - 3:22pm
By: John Thompson
Starting Monday, Coweta County and Senoia residents will see their outdoor watering times severely limited. The Coweta County Commission voted Tuesday to impose level three drought water restrictions on county residents because of the lack of rain and Newnan Utilities implementation of the more severe restrictions. Starting next week, residents with even number addresses can only water between midnight Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday morning, while residents with odd-number addresses can water between midnight Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday. If you violate the restrictions, you’ll receive a written warning on your first offense. For a second offense, the fine is $250, while the third offense features a $1,000 fine. The fourth offense results in a $4,000 fine and the water being disconnected. The Senoia City Council is meeting this morning and is expected to implement the same restrictions. login to post comments |
