Meth, crack found at suspect’s PTC home A drug dealer peddling from a golf cart near the Kedron Fieldhouse in Peachtree City was arrested early Saturday evening by officers who were tailing him, police said. Randall Adam Phillips, 24, of Santolina Park, Peachtree City, was under surveillance when he tried to make a drug transaction with another person on the cart path next to Las Brasis Court in the Kedron Village area, police said. In the minutes leading up to the arrest, officers blocked off both ends of the cart path so citizens wouldn’t be endangered if a melee occurred during the arrest, said Police Chief James Murray. Officers later found 15 prepackaged baggies of crystal methamphetamine — commonly referred to as “ice” — along with some crack cocaine and valium at Phillips’s house, police said. Police also found a list of prospective drug buyers, some cash, scales and other drug-related items at the house, police said. Persons who were on Phillips’s list should go ahead and turn themselves in, Murray said, because more arrests are forthcoming based on that list and other evidence in the case. Phillips was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of schedule IV narcotics and possession of drug-related objects. The arrest underscores the fact that there are people who live in Peachtree City and sell drugs here too, Murray said. Citizens on the cart path are urged to be on the lookout for the same golf cart and/or people coming to the same location day in and day out, Murray said. That and other suspicious activity should be reported to the department’s crime tip line at 770-631-2510, the chief said. Although police may not respond to the scene immediately, that information could be vital to cracking a case in an active investigation, Murray noted. login to post comments |
