Two cell phone stores were burglarized this week in Peachtree City, with a large quantity of cell phones and accessories taken, police said.

Six vehicles were broken into Wednesday morning at the Braelinn Golf Course parking lot, police said.

The windows of the vehicles were broken and a purse was taken from each vehicle, police said. The incident occurred sometime between 10:30 and 11 a.m., police said.

The Youth Council of Fayette County is hosting a concert Friday, Dec. 15 that will feature several rock bands.

The headliner is Between the Trees, one of the hottest indie rock bands in the southeast which has almost a million plays on MySpaceMusic and Purevolume. Another band on the slate is 7 Sharp 9 of Atlanta, which tours the country and Kenotia from Marietta which just finished recording in New York and has more than 300,000 plays on MySpaceMusic and Purevolume.

New board member will be appointed

There will no special election to fill the unexpired term of former school board chairman Mitch Powell.

Instead, the board will appoint someone from Powell’s 5th District to fill the last two years of his term. Powell succumbed to lung cancer earlier this month, and Coweta County school officials have been researching the method to replace him on the board.

Burglary suspects sought
