Parents have two weeks to make their feelings known on the Coweta County school calendars for the next two school years.

The Board of Education is expected to choose final versions of the calendars at its December 12 meeting and is asking for public input through December 1.

Residents should consider the two versions of the calendar posted at www.coweta.k12.ga.us/calendars.htm. After viewing the options, residents are asked to feedback by email at calendar07-08@cowetaschools.net or writing the the board at:

Superintendent’s Office
Coweta County School System

Newnan, Georgia 30264

The first option is similar to this year’s calendar and starts school August 6, 2007 and provides a full week Thanksgiving break along with ending the first semester December 18.

The second calendar option starts the school year a little later on August 13, has a three-day Thanksgiving holiday, and ends the first semester on December 20.
