Civil Air Patrol gets a real-life experience

The Georgia National Guard under the leadership of Major General William T. Nesbitt conducted a combined training exercise with the Peachtree City-Falcon Field Civil Air Patrol squadron recently.

Civil Air Patrol members flew in the UH-60 (Blackhawk) helicopter piloted by Major Dewayne Wilson, Copiloted by Colonel Brent Bracewell with Crew Chief SSGT Jerome Rademacher.

A safety briefing was held and the first of three sorties, comprised of 13 CAP members and the flight crew departed Falcon Field. The flight crew demonstrated several flight maneuvers and then departed for a short flight over south Coweta County.

The Fall colors were outstanding, the flying was excellent, and the knowledge obtained will prepare the Civil Air Patrol for future joint ventures, according to Samuel B. Levie, the communications training officer for the squadron.

Civil Air Patrol, the official U. S. Air Force Auxiliary, is a nonprofit organization which performs 95% of continental U.S. inland search and rescue missions as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center.
