Police: Quick clothes change doesn’t help suspects

A well-dressed jewelry thief and his getaway driver were arrested by Peachtree City police Wednesday afternoon after stealing a $30,000 ring from a store at The Avenue shopping center, police said.

The duo even stopped after the heist to briefly change clothes, but the jewelry store owner, Bill McDonald, helped police locate the suspects by following them in his car, police said. McDonald used a bystander’s cellphone to call 911, informing dispatchers of the suspects’ vehicle description and direction of travel, police said. Police Sgt. Mark Brown then spotted the vehicle near Crosstown Road moments before other officers intercepted the vehicle on Ga. Highway 74 south near the baseball and soccer complex, police said.

The suspects were arrested without incident, police said.

The 3.5 carat diamond ring was found under the passenger’s seat of the vehicle, police said.

The suspects were identified as Randy Lavern Lowe, 26, of Beckwith Street, Atlanta and Thomas Lee Hunt Jr., 28, of Hollywood Road, Atlanta. Both were positively identified as having participated in the heist, police said.

Lowe and Hunt were charged with one felony count of theft by taking.

One of the suspects ran from the store after the clerk gave him the ring, and the two took off in a silver Oldsmobile, police said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Peachtree City police at 770-487-8866.

Hey Nowester.. From the same source (Morgan Quitno Press), the five smartest states were Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey and Maine. Wonder what they have in common?

And bringing up the lower end of the rankings scale were Arizona in last place, preceded by Nevada, Mississippi, California and Alaska. Gee, I wonder what these have in common too?

What does "state" have to do with it? Are residents of Jekyl Island as safe as those in south Atlanta? Whereever there is ignorance and poverty, there is dangerous crime! The undangerous kind is on Wall Street.

Jeff,
You're not even close. Hint: It has nothing to do with political affiliation.

Jeff,
It seems that Norwester's purpose on these boards is to show that crime = black and black = crime. To bolster this point Norwester will ignore any other statistics you throw Norwester's way such as:
-Child abuse by race
-spouse abuse by race
-Peachtree City homicides by race
-pedophilia racial demographics
-mass murderer demographics
-serial killer typical profiles.
-internet predator demographics

I hate even entering this line of thinking because it is wholly unproductive unless one's purpose is to offer solutions as to how to address these social issues demographically.
But not Norwester. Norwester just wants you to judge your neighbors by their pigment, and live in a constant state of fear, which we call, Norwesterworld.
Cheers, God Bless, and we're both going to need a shower for entering this slimy blog.

Our President was quoted today as saying,

"Dr King showed us that a life of conscious and purpose can lift up many souls, and on this ground a monument will rise that preserves his legacy for the ages."

A life of conscious?

Please tell me he didn't say this. I read student papers in moral philosophy all the time. This is a common freshman mistake. But, in the name of God, please tell me that our President does not substitute "conscious" for "conscience."

This is worse than "nucular."
