Starr's Mill softball team goes 3-3 at Brookwood tournamentThe sixth-ranked Starr’s Mill Lady Panthers got a break from region competition last weekend, taking part in the Brookwood tournament, in which it went 3-3. Sandy Creek softball team wins their division at Brookwood tournamentSandy Creek’s varsity softball team went 4-2 in the Brookwood tournament and won the Maroon Division. The Lady Patriots defeated Parkview 1-0 with Candace Dunn driving in the run with a sacrifice bunt. Hannah Braswell and Kayla Folds split the pitching with Braswell getting six strikeouts in four innings and Folds earning four strikeouts. Mercy picks up first win of season, beats Towns County 35-26Our Lady of Mercy got three touchdowns from Christian Willis, one from Jarrell Bankhead and one from David Goemare on Friday to earn their first win of the 2007 season. The Bobcats allowed a lot of points to Towns County, which had only averaged six points a game in their previous three games, but the Mercy offense was too hard to stop. Kidd dominant, McIntosh crushes Woodward Academy 6-0A day after beating third-ranked Whitewater, McIntosh crushed Woodward Academy 6-0 Thursday in College Park. It was one of McIntosh’s best all-around games of the season; it scored at least two runs in all but the first, second and sixth innings, and Morgan Kidd was dominant, throwing a complete-game one hitter, with 19 strikeouts. Fourth-ranked Northgate hands third-ranked Whitewater first region loss, 2-1The third-ranked Whitewater Lady Wildcats and fourth-ranked Northgate Lady Vikings both entered their game Tuesday undefeated in the region. The Bobcats (0-2) got an outstanding performance from Dominique McDermott. McDermott had two catches for 60 yards and a touchdown, 10 solo tackles and an 80 yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
