Mercy falls to Athens Christian, 35-24

Our Lady of Mercy hosted Athens Christian last Friday and fell short in their quest for their first win of the season, 35-24. The Bobcats (0-2) got an outstanding performance from Dominique McDermott. McDermott had two catches for 60 yards and a touchdown, 10 solo tackles and an 80 yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Our Lady of Mercy also got points from a Derek Schwahn touchdown reception in the third quarter and a 30 yard field goal from Jacob Lescene in the fourth quarter. Quarterback William Pearl threw for 134 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.

The defense was led by Will Simmons with 11 solo tackles and one assist. Jarrell Bankhead added seven tackles and Matthew Maker chipped in six.
The Bobcats will play at Towns County (0-3) on Friday.
