In a dual meet against Sandy Creek last Wednesday, the McIntosh boys and girls cross country team conquered heat and construction to turn in some good times:
Whitewater softball team tops Creekside, 15-0It was senior night for the Lady Wildcats (18-7-1, 6-2 region) and their final game of the regular season and things went off "purr-fectly." McIntosh home finale ends with 7-0 victory over Sandy CreekWednesday was an emotional night for McIntosh senior ace Morgan Kidd, who pitched at her school’s home field for the final time in her career. Cycle Specialty holding an open house this SaturdayThe public is invited to attend an open house and bike show at Cycle Specialty in Fayetteville on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Visitors will enjoy music, door prizes, free food and refreshments and specials on select tires, helmets and motorcycles. There will be a 10 percent discount on all parts and accessory purchases made during the open house, and tires purchased during the open house will be mounted for free. Whitewater wins second in a row, crushes Westlake 31-8Thomas Frierson scored three touchdowns to lead the Whitewater Wildcats to their second consecutive victory, 31-8 Friday over the Westlake Lions in Atlanta. Starr's Mill's second-half comeback falls short, loses to Banneker 40-27The roller coaster ride that has been Starr's Mill's season continues. Banneker withstood a 20-point second half by Starr's Mill to win its third straight game, 40-27 Friday night in College Park. Sandy Creek volleyball goes undefeated at tournamentThe Sandy Creek Lady Patriots came out number one in the Collins Hill Classic this past weekend. The team of three seniors and six juniors went undefeated over the course of the tournament and finished with a perfect record of 14-0 and held many of the teams to ten points or less. They defeated Alcovy (25-4, 25-6), Ola (25-13, 25-8), Northgate (25-14, 25-21), Houston County (25-14, 25-10), Dutchtown (25-9, 25-14), Athens Academy (25-11, 25-8). But perhaps none has been more memorable than what the senior accomplished Tuesday, hitting a first-pitch, game-winning, two-out RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning in McIntosh’s 3-2 come-from-behind victory over sixth-ranked Starr’s Mill in a key Region 2-AAAA game on Senior Night in Peachtree City.
