Sandy Creek seniors Dani Frazier and Megan Kallatsa were honored before their game with Central, Carroll tonight. Frazier, in her final home game at Sandy Creek, drove in two runs with a double in the first, but two home runs from Central, Carroll led to their victory.

How she came to running: “My cousin forced me to run with her and get some exercise and I realized how much I liked it. Last year was the first time I ran competitively, I had no idea I’d be any good at it.”

In a dual meet against Sandy Creek last Wednesday, the McIntosh boys and girls cross country team conquered heat and construction to turn in some good times:

It was senior night for the Lady Wildcats (18-7-1, 6-2 region) and their final game of the regular season and things went off "purr-fectly."

Wednesday was an emotional night for McIntosh senior ace Morgan Kidd, who pitched at her school’s home field for the final time in her career.

Fullback Matt Daniels ran 18 times for 148 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 11 total tackles.

Whitewater went 6-1 in a tournament over the weekend, beating Grayson (25-20, 25-22), Habersham Central (25-8, 25-12), Newton (25-8, 25-6), Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy (16-25, 25-13, 25-14), Mt. Pisgah (26-24, 25-14) and Chambleee (25-23, 25-14).

Turnovers by the War Eagle offense and big plays by the Bremen offense proved to be the difference in Landmark's 27-7 loss. The War Eagle offense moved the ball up and down the field all night long in route to 376 yards of total offense, but could only punch it in the end zone once when quarterbackTanner Bryant tossed an 11 yard touchdown pass to sophomore receiver Kyle Wren in the second quarter.

Matt Daniels is literally the king of Fayette County, and Tiger Stadium is his castle.

Our Lady of Mercy had never had a two-game winning streak when playing a varsity schedule.

After losing their first two games to begin the season, the Sandy Creek Patriots appear to be back, winning their Region 6-AAA opener Friday, 24-17 over host Villa Rica, for their second straight victory.

Banneker withstood a 20-point second half by Starr's Mill to win its third straight game, 40-27 Friday night in College Park.

The Sandy Creek Lady Patriots came out number one in the Collins Hill Classic this past weekend. The team of three seniors and six juniors went undefeated over the course of the tournament and finished with a perfect record of 14-0 and held many of the teams to ten points or less. They defeated Alcovy (25-4, 25-6), Ola (25-13, 25-8), Northgate (25-14, 25-21), Houston County (25-14, 25-10), Dutchtown (25-9, 25-14), Athens Academy (25-11, 25-8). In the championship game, Sandy Creek defeated Norcross (25-18, 25-18).

The Whitewater Wildcats had a quick night on Tuesday as they dispatched of Fayette Co. and Lovejoy in Area 3 play at Whitewater.

When the top two teams in Class AAAA meet, you know you're in for a good game. When the teams are both from the same county, you know it will be a great game.

Erin Justice has had many memorable moments throughout her softball career at McIntosh.

But perhaps none has been more memorable than what the senior accomplished Tuesday, hitting a first-pitch, game-winning, two-out RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning in McIntosh’s 3-2 come-from-behind victory over sixth-ranked Starr’s Mill in a key Region 2-AAAA game on Senior Night in Peachtree City.
