The Fayette County Tigers are 4-0 and sit by themselves atop the Region Region 2-AAAA standings following their 21-7 win over Woodward Academy Friday night.

Brandon Boykin scored two touchdowns and Matt Daniels added one to lead the Tigers' offense, and their defense once again did a tremendous job of keeping the opposing offense in check.

Looking to deliver Fayette's first loss of the season, Woodward struck first, scoring a rushing touchdown following a Fayette turnover in the first quarter.

Boykin tied the game in the second quarter with his first touchdown of the night, a 47-yard run.

Fayette continued to overpower Woodward with its running game in the second half, with Daniels scoring on a 37-yard run in the third quarter and Boykin scoring on a 39-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Fayette finished with 376 yards rushing. Boykin ran 15 times for 183 yards, and Daniels ran 21 times for 133 yards.

"It's the first game both Brandon and Matt broke out for big games," Fayette coach Tommy Webb said. "Our offensive line did a good job of opening holes for those guys."

Webb also praised his team's defensive effort.

"Our defense really stepped up and made some plays," Webb said. "Any time you play good defense, you'll be in any game."
