McIntosh loses to Westlake in heartbreaker, 27-14.

The feisty McIntosh Chiefs were looking for their second win of the season Friday, when they faced the Westlake Lions in the teams' Region 2-AAAA opener.

Westlake won, 27-14, but the final score didn't indicate how close the game really was.

The teams were tied at 14 midway through the fourth quarter, but Westlake pulled ahead on a 41-yard touchdown run by Jaquies Jackson with 5:50 left in the fourth quarter.

The Chiefs were driving for for a potential game-tying touchdown in the fourth quarter, but Westlake linebacker Quinton Toomer sealed McIntosh’s fate by intercepting a pass from McIntosh quarterback Jeff Prather in the end zone and returning it for a touchdown with 34 seconds remaining.

McIntosh had a 7-6 lead early in the second quarter, when Ben Sims scored on a 4-yard run.

The Chiefs added to their lead with a 1-yard touchdown run by Moroni De Moors with 7:20 to go in the third quarter.
