Pull out the brooms: McIntosh sweeps WhitewaterThe old adage that you cannot teach size certainly applies to the McIntosh Chiefs. McIntosh continuously exploited its size advantage to win its second straight game Tuesday, 65-57 over the Whitewater Wildcats on Senior Night in a Region 2-AAAA game in Peachtree City. Survey asks for residents input on PTC recreation needsA new survey has been released from the Peachtree City Parks & Recreation Department and the Recreation Commission to gather information to update the 2007 – 2011 Peachtree City Recreation Master Plan. This survey can be accessed through the city website, www.peachtree-city.org , through www.ptcrecreation.org , or through the various sports organizations or class participation list. Hard copies will be available at recreation department facilities, City Hall, the Library, the Tennis Center, the Amphitheater office, the Welcome/Visitors Center as well as police and fire headquarters. McIntosh wrestlers beat Ola and Eagle's LandingThe McIntosh Wrestler swept a dual meet against Ola and Eagles Landing High School on Tuesday Jan. 8 at the McIntosh Gym. In the opening match against Ola, the sixth ranked team in Class AAA, the Chiefs scored an exciting victory 36 to 30. In the second match McIntosh beat Eagles Landing 76 to 6. Starr's Mill swims well in AugustaThe Starr’s Mill men’s and women’s swim teams had a strong showing at the Panther Wolfpack Invitational Swim Meet held this past Saturday in Augusta. It is a way to introduce girls to the sport, which is rising in popularity all over the south, and also a way for Weigle to help give back to a lacrosse community that she adores. Tuesday's action features huge upset as Whitewater boys topple FayetteIt was most certainly the upset of the season when Whitewater’s boys handed Fayette County (10-7, 6-2 region) a 58-55 loss on Tuesday. It was the first region win of the season for the Wildcats. Whitewater (3-13, 1-7 region) was paced by 19 points from Jamal Washington, while Fayette County’s leading scorer, Noel Johnson, scored a game-high 23 points. Whitewater also had key contributions from Justin Smith with 13 points, Jeremy Gunter with 11 points and eight rebounds and Renaldo Jenkins with nine. |
