NAACP election is Saturday

More than 13,000 acres have been annexed by cities

Whether intended or not when the General Assembly earlier this year paved the way for the creation of the cities of Chattahoochee Hills and South Fulton, the cities of Union City, Fairburn and Palmetto have annexed 13,283 acres of land referenced in the Senate bills describing the boundaries of the new cities.

Women charged in bizarre enticing children case

Two women were charged with enticing a child for indecent purposes in an Oct. 11 incident at Palmetto Elementary School. The mother of one of the students and an acquaintance were arrested the following day by Fulton County School Police after reports that they had two second grade girls urinate in cups in a school restroom. The reason the incident occurred is not known.

Fayetteville police seek ring thief

Ring suspect-Friedmans

Fayetteville Police are looking for a jewelry thief with expensive tastes who purloined an $8,000 ring from a local store Saturday, Oct. 21.

The unidentified suspect stole the ring while pretending to be a customer at the Friedman’s Jewelry Store at the Fayette Pavilion, police said. After the sales clerk handed him one of several rings he asked to see, the suspect ran from the store and left the area in a silver passenger car, police said.
