The Fayette County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) will hold election of officers and the executive Board for 2007 through 2008 November 11. The election process will take place at Flat Rock AME Church located at 148 Old Chapel Lane, just off Highway 54 and Huiet Road, from 2 p.m.-6 p.m. All current members of the Fayette County NAACP are requested to please come out to the monthly meeting also scheduled on that day at Flat Rock beginning at 4 p.m.

The Fayette County NAACP has been active in the community as an advocate against injustice, unfairness, and inequality in all segments of the county and local city government administration. Over the past few years the Fayette NAACP has worked cooperatively to facilitate racial understanding and harmony by sponsoring political forums; increasing voter participation and empowerment, youth mentoring programs; the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday observances, and by working with the Fayette County Board of Education and other agencies to help improve test grades on the GHSGT, EOCT, SAT and ACT examinations. The leadership of the local NAACP branch is soliciting and requesting all members come out to vote and help select the leadership team that will lead the branch for the next two years.
