Fairburn Police have arrested a 14 year-old male and are seeking a 15 year-old on armed robbery charges in back to back incidents Oct. 24.

The 14 year-old male, of Fairburn, was charged with two counts of armed robbery, said Det. Toney Williams. Warrants are pending for the 15 year-old Fairburn resident, Williams said.

The first incident at occurred at approximately 5:10 PM as a patron of Fairburn Library on Valley View Drive was about to enter his vehicle after exiting the building. The man told officers he was approached by two males with faces partially covered, reports said. One of the males had his hand in his pocket as if he had a weapon pointed at the man while the other juvenile began demanding money, according to incident reports. The juveniles got no money but fled with the man’s cell phone.

Less than two hours later a woman was robbed a few blocks away at Church and Washington streets. The woman said she was approached by two males asking if she wanted some “hard” (crack cocaine), according to reports. She told officers one of the males produced a black semi-automatic handgun, reports said. One of the males took her purse and emptied it on the street, also instructing the woman empty her pockets and shake out her bra. The juveniles fled after stealing a silver necklace, incident reports said.

Williams said one of the juveniles was subsequently taken into custody. A warrant is pending on the other male, he said.
