Thirty-six year-old Philip Shawn Curl sustained non-life threatening injuries at a 1024 Ridgefield Drive residence Thursday morning after being shot by a man who fled the home on foot, police said. Peachtree City Police investigating the shooting are speaking with multiple individuals in relation to the shooting and the suspect seen running in an easterly direction. No arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation.

Commission approves McIntosh Village treatment plant

Coweta County commissioners Jan. 20 approved what will be the initial project for the 1,558-acre McIntosh Village development. The board unanimously approved a rezoning request for construction of the community’s wastewater treatment facility that will handle 1 million gallons per day. The 74.42-acre site is situated on the east side of the development. It is adjacent to the Fayette County line and borders the northwest side of Senoia.

Small development okayed at Fischer Road and Hwy. 34

Coweta County Commission Jan. 20 gave unanimous approval to a rezoning request for a commercial development on 9.067 acres at Ga. Highway 34 and Fischer Road. Only 1.25 acres on the site are suitable for development. The property is located just west of the northwest corner of Fischer Road and Ga. Highway 34 and is adjacent to the 800,000 square-foot Fischer Crossing commercial development already approved by the commission in June.

A Peachtree City man was arrested Monday after he pulled out a knife and threatened his stepfather, police said.

Initially Cedric L. Blandburg was asked to leave his stepfather’s and mother’s house due to a family incident and he refused, police said. At one point he also threatened the stepfather with a pipe and the knife, police said.
