Cops still probing church shootingFri, 01/23/2009 - 2:52pm

Peachtree City police are still investigating a shooting that damaged one of Fayette County’s oldest churches early Tuesday morning. The shots were fired into the front door of Bethlehem Baptist Church, which is located on Dividend Drive between Kelly Drive and Crosstown Drive. No one was at the church at the time, police said. Police said they have narrowed down the time frame the incident occurred from roughly 6:45 to 7:30 a.m. Bethlehem is a predominantly black church and has been since its inception. Police are following all leads and possible motives for the incident, police said. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation helped process the scene, police said. login to post comments |
