Student's ralley for troupsRamelle Dinofer’s brother, Trey Beckman, met a man on an airplane awhile back. The two men started a conversation and formed a friendship. It turned out that the man Beckman sat next to was a sergeant in the National Guard on leave from serving in iraq. Sgt. Chris Burnett, like Beckman, was from South Carolina and was a very religious man. The two exhanged e-mails before getting off the plane and going their seperate ways. Kevin Wright, who lives at 516 Rockaway Road, asked the City Council Monday night to allow him to place a brass statue in his front yard. City Administrator Richard Ferry said Wright runs his engineering business out of his home and originally wanted to place a sign that would enable customers to find his business.
