The J.C. Booth Middle Science Olympiad team has reclaimed their championship title by once again taking first place at the national tournament. After finishing sixth at last year’s National Science Olympiad, the Booth team came back with a vengeance to retake their reign as the best in the nation at the tournament held in Bloomington, In. May 17-20. This latest win gives Booth its ninth victory out of 13 trips to nationals. Additionally, the school was the only one from the South to finish in the top 10. Approximately 2,400 students from 60 teams and 46 states attended this year’s event. Science Olympiad competitions ask students to apply the principals of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, problem solving and technology to events that require competitors to do everything from constructing a bridge to reconstructing a crime scene. login to post comments |
