The principal and teachers of the new Welch Elementary School will be available to meet with parents May 30, at the Centre for Performing and Visual Arts. The Welch parent/teacher meeting will is from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Centre' for Performing and Visual Arts in the auditorium. The meeting will answer questions about the opening of Welch this August, and will be used to nominate parents for School Council and PTO. Staff members will be present at the meeting, and will meet prior to the parent meeting to discuss summer planning. Welch Elementary Principal Becky Darrah will also communicate by letter with Newnan Crossing and Poplar Road Elementary parents whose children will attend the new Welch Elementary next year. Welch Elementary – located on Mary Freeman Road – will open in August, 2006, along with Lee middle School. Lee Middle Principal Bob Heaberlin held a meeting for new parents in late April, so parents could meet staff members and ask questions about the school’s opening.
