Blessing the animals

Several churches in the area recently held special services for blessing the animals in conjunction with the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. Father Paul Elliott of St. Andrew’s in the Pines Episcopal Church in Peachtree City blessed more than 15 dogs and one cat. ‘Instructional’ Mass set for Nov. 5

Father Daniel J. Fleming, pastor at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Newnan, will offer an “instructional Mass” on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. Fleming will provide verbal explanations of each part of the Mass as it is celebrated.

Lotz Bible study offered at Hopewell
A six-week Bible study, entitled “The Vision of His Glory”, will begin at Hopewell UMC on Thursday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. The study was created by Anne Graham Lotz and will be taught by Phyllis Gaddy. The study focuses on finding hope through the revelation of Jesus Christ, and is appropriate for all men, women, and teens. Study books are $10 each and may be purchased from Mrs. Gaddy. St. Christopher’s Hellenic Orthodox Church Philoptochos Society will hold its annual Greek Appetizers and Baklava sale just in time for holiday entertaining. Harvest Jamboree planned at Corinth Baptist
