Lotz Bible study offered at Hopewell
A six-week Bible study, entitled “The Vision of His Glory”, will begin at Hopewell UMC on Thursday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. The study was created by Anne Graham Lotz and will be taught by Phyllis Gaddy. The study focuses on finding hope through the revelation of Jesus Christ, and is appropriate for all men, women, and teens. Study books are $10 each and may be purchased from Mrs. Gaddy. Fayette Family Church to honor civil servants
Fayette Family Church will sponsor Civil Servants Honor Day on Sunday Oct. 19, during the morning service beginning at 10:30 a.m. All civil servants present will be honored and presented with a token of appreciation from Fayette Family Church. Dr. Timmons to speak on AIDS Oct. 22
A free, informative session on AIDS will be held at The Body of Christ Church International, U.S.A., on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m.. The session will be led by Dr. Sylvia Simmons, a former territorial director of the STD/HIV/AIDS/TB program in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Timmons also has worked in the areas of substance abuse, social work, domestic violence and child abuse. The Body of Christ Church International, U.S.A. is at 3650 Flat Shoals Rd. in College Park. Pumpkins available at Hopewell UMC
Hopewell United Methodist Church opened its annual “Pumpkin Patch” sale last Saturday, Oct. 11. Most of the proceeds from the sale will go toward community mission projects initiated by the church. “The Patch” will be open Monday through Friday from 2 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 12:30 to 8 p.m. The church is at 351 Jenkins Rd. in Tyrone, directly across from Sandy Creek High School. Nat’l Heights plans yard sale, Pumpkin Patch
National Heights Baptist Church, Fayetteville, will hold a community-wide yard sale on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., with proceeds to benefit the Fayette Samaritans. Pumpkins for the kids and home baked goodies will also be offered. Booth space for local individuals and vendors is available. Dawn Smith Jordan will be in concert Sunday night, Oct. 19, at 6 p.m. at Woolsey Baptist Church. Inman’s Consecration Service is Nov. 2
Inman United Methodist Church will have its Consecration Service Sunday, Nov. 2, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Clay Jacobs will be the guest preacher.
