St Paul Lutheran Church, Peachtree City, celebrated the confirmation of eight young men and women on May 28.

Coke’s Chapel United Methodist Church Choir will present a patriotic musical, “I Love America,” at the church at 4096 Lower Fayetteville Road at 5 p.m.

Mad Science summer camp will return to Fayetteville First United Methodist Church this summer, providing two weeks of hands-on science activities for children beginning July 17.

The curriculum focuses on a strong Biblical foundation that involves the spiritual, social, cognitive, creative, emotional, and physical areas of development, with enrichments in music and Spanish. Teachers are all experienced professionals.

Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church in Sharpsburg recently recognized six high school graduates during morning worship services. Father David Epps, pastor of Christ the King, presented each graduate with a leather-bound copy of The Book of Common Prayer.

Fourteen years ago, a handful of parishioners of the Catholic Church of Saint Gabriel held a modest rummage sale in the back yard of a member, the late Marge English.

The Rev. Dr. Calvin Butts III, senior pastor of the Abyssinian Baptist Church in historic Harlem, New York City, will be the guest speaker for the June 25 culminating services at Olivet Baptist Church’s Mighty Men Month. Butts also is president of the State University of New York College at Old Westbury.

The Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will sponsor a mission trip to Gulfport, Miss. July 16 to assist the Mississippi City United Methodist Church in its Katrina recovery efforts. The mission group will return to Fayetteville Friday evening, July 21.

As has been their tradition, members of New Hope United Methodist Church celebrated Family and Friends Day on Memorial Day, with a gathering of friends and family, salute to veterans, barbecue, singing, games and entertainment.

David and Kelley Butler have been selected to join the youth ministry staff at North Fayette United Methodist Church as director of student ministries and youth music director, respectively. Unity Christian Church will celebrate five years as a local Fayette County church this Sunday with a special Anniversary and Fellowship service at 4 p.m.

Grace Christian Academy, a ministry of Fayette Bible Church, has just completed a two-year process for its accreditation by the Georgia Association of Christian Schools (GACS). This process began as a result of the school’s decision in 2003 to add a high school to its already existing K4 through 8th grades. It was made official on Friday, May 26.
