Not twins — but boys born and baptized three minutes apartTue, 06/20/2006 - 4:49pm

Max William Handley and Patrick Alan Haskin were born three minutes apart on Feb. 21, 2006. Max, the first child of Michael and Deborah Handley, was born at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, while Patrick, the fourth child born to Scott and Heather Haskin of Newnan, was born three minutes later at Southern Regional women’s Center in Riverdale. Both families are members of Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church in Sharpsburg. “I’ve been in the ministry 35 years,” said Christ the King’s pastor, David Epps, “and, with the exception of twins, I’ve never had two babies born on the same day, much less so close together. I was kept busy that day, going back and forth between the two hospitals.” Recently, both children received the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at Christ the King. Max was baptized first and, in keeping with the previous event, Patrick was baptized three minutes later. Epps officiated at the services with both fathers assisting. login to post comments |
