Harlem minister to speak at ‘Mighty Men’ serviceTue, 06/13/2006 - 8:52am

The Rev. Dr. Calvin Butts III, senior pastor of the Abyssinian Baptist Church in historic Harlem, New York City, will be the guest speaker for the June 25 culminating services at Olivet Baptist Church’s Mighty Men Month which began June 3 and continues through the last Sunday in June. The theme for the event is, “Commitment: The Bridge Between leadership and, Service.” Butts also is president of the State University of New York College at Old Westbury. The Rev. Quinton Jackson, assistant minister at Olivet, will preach at the 10:45 a.m. service on June 25 and the Olivet Male Choir will sing. At 5 p.m. on the same Sunday, the Mighty Men will sponsor a men’s choir concert featuring male choirs from the metropolitan Atlanta Area. Olivet Baptist Church of Christ is at 877 Ga.
