David and Kelley Butler have been selected to join the youth ministry staff at North Fayette United Methodist Church as director of student ministries and youth music director, respectively. They grew up under the pastoral tutelage of North Fayette’s founding pastor, Dee Shellnut, in the Stone Mountain congregation of St. Timothy.

Most recently they have been involved in one of the new mission congregations being planted in this area by the North Georgia Conference.

David Butler is a former special needs teacher who recently opted to be a stay-at-home dad. Kelley Butler presently is the choral director for Whitewater High School and formerly was the assistant choral director at Fayette County High School.

The couple has one son, Grayson, age 2.

The Butlers will work as a team with the youth at North Fayette, with Kelley helping David with organizational work and event planning, as well as working with the youth music program.

Members of the North Fayette UMC Staff Parish Committee say they feel the Butlers are a “wonderful fit” for the congregation and for the students.
