Prince of Peace Lutheran Church plans Good Friday, Easter services

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fayetteville invites the community to celebrate Holy Week with them.

They will focus on Jesus’ death in a Good Friday Service on Friday, April 14th at 8pm in their Sanctuary.

St. Mary Magdalene’s journey continues

Church celebrates Easter in transitional home in tent, and at East Coweta High

Christians throughout the world began their special observances of Holy Week with Palm Sunday services during which blessed palms were distributed. At Saint Mary Magdalene’s Catholic Church in Sharpsburg, palms were blessed and then given to parishioners as they gathered outside their worship space before Mass on Sunday. At present, that worship space is the cafeteria of East Coweta High School, fondly labeled the “chapelteria.” Masses are on Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m.

Grace Evangelical host special Easter services

Grace Evangelical Church in Fayetteville will host a special Good Friday evening service, “Hope at the Darkest Hour”, on April 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the church campus at 164 Flat Creek Trail, Fayetteville. There will be a special dramatic reading/presentation highlighting the last hours of Jesus’ life, passion, and death on the cross. Communion together will be a special part of this memorial service. Childcare will be provided for all pre-schoolers.

Providence UMC continues Holy Week traditions

There will be a Maundy Thursday Service on April 13th at 7:00 p.m. This reverent service, taking place in a darkened, silent room, includes dramatic portrayals of Biblical characters whose lives were changed by Jesus, and ends with Holy Communion in observance of the Last Supper. PTC First Presbyterian plans special activities for Easter

First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City invites the public to celebrate the Easter season with special activities and services. Southside Baptist hosts community cookout

Southside Baptist Church announces free community cookout and Easter egg hunt Saturday. The church is located at 1332 Hwy. 92 South, Fayetteville, one and a half miles south of Fayetteville. The egg hunt will take place at 11:15 a.m. Children should bring a basket or bag. More than 1400 eggs filled with candy will be available and prizes will be awarded. Free hot dogs, slaw, chips, drinks, and deserts will be served immediately following the egg hunt. And the Easter rabbit will be on site.

Good Friday services begin Easter at Turin UMC

Turin United Methodist Church invites everyone to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus with special services and events this week. Good Friday worship will be held in the sanctuary at 6 p.m. Come as you are. A Children’s Easter egg hunt will be held on Saturday at 10.00 a.m. All children through age 12 are invited to come and take part in this egg hunt. There will also be crafts, games and prizes. A sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m. Weather permitting it will be held outside on the church grounds - in case of rain meet inside the church. Easter morning breakfast will be served from 8 to 9 a.m. in the church fellowship Hall at no charge. Easter worship service will be held at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary. Inman UMC plan Easter services

Inman United Methodist Church will have a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. Easter Sunday services at the church begin with a sunrise service at the Inman Cemetery at 7 a.m. In case of rain, the service will be held in the church sanctuary. Celebrations of the Resurrection of our Lord will be held at 8:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the church. The church is located just off 92 South on Hills Bridge Rd. Parking is available and a nursery is provided.

Siloam Church hosts conference for men

Siloah Church International will host the “Men Empowering Men Conference” April 20 and 21 at 7 p.m. Dr. Jonathon Carter, pastor of the Siloam Church, will be speaking Thursday night and Olivet Baptist Church, Chattanooga, Tenn., pastor Ken Adams will be the guest speaker Friday night. Bible Study for high school girls begins Monday

A five-week Bible study for high school girls will begin Monday, April 17, from 6:30 –8 p.m. and will be held at the law offices of Kirby, Palmer, Farrell, & Nix, located on Hwy. 54 west of Fayetteville. It was a sight to behold. It never had happened to me in all my ministerial days. Picture this: a beach wedding on the Gulf of Mexico. The bride was as lovely as any bride and the groom was in a striking tuxedo. There were bridesmaids as well as groom attendants. All the normal stuff of a wedding. And I was there in my ministerial best to officiate at the beautiful, beach ceremony.
