Mad Science summer camp will return to Fayetteville First United Methodist Church this summer, providing two weeks of hands-on science activities for children beginning July 17.

The theme of the first week is “Claws, Codes and Constellation,” and the second week will entail “Red Hot Robots.” Children will build rockets, make recycled paper, learn secret codes and learn why airplanes fly.

Each camp day, children will participate in a full day of planned activities including take-home items, such as robots the campers build themselves.

Mad Science is an international organization founded in 1993 and currently serves children in 142 locations in 22 countries, including the Atlanta location. Its mission is to spark the imagination and curiosity of children everywhere by providing them with fun, entertaining and educational activities which instill a clear understanding of what science is really about and how it affects the world around them.

Mad Science offers a variety of programs and books for children ages 3 to 12. All programs are developed by a team of professionals. Themes include rocketry, lasers, sound modulation, space, indoor fireworks and more than 70 additional topics.
