Michael Boylan: Working outThere's a ton of gyms in the area - more than ever from the looks of it - and plenty of recreation opportunities. Do you have a class, routine or sport you take part in regularly that keeps you in shape - or at least feeling good? dollaradayandfound: The SurgeWe are told this week that the surge in Iraq is working---as opposed to two weeks ago, it was not. dollaradayandfound: Oreilly and the JihadistsIn addition to threatening San Francisco with giving them no help if the Jihadists blow them up, he now has told some people in Maine that they face a similar threat from him! dollaradayandfound: Army and FBI in MinnesotaI hope big gun and some others won't take me wrong, but what gives with the Army and FBI divers having to come into Minneapolis to find all of the missing bridge victims? dollaradayandfound: Flocks of DoDosTwo men were arrested in South Carolina for being suspicious. Kevin Wandra: Does anybody care about Barry Bonds? The San Francisco Giants' Barry Bonds is on the verge of setting Major League Baseball's all-time home run record. The only reason I care about Bonds is because I own his rookie card. wildcat: Hutch...here's our friendDid you dress like this too? ha ha ha [IMG]http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w203/cabdu/2005_0205Image0009 dollaradayandfound: Bridge: new informationWhy are our Interstate bridges, in particular, in poor condition? too bad: Desecration of graves in TyroneI saw something yesterday, I hope I never see again. Over off Trickum creek is a new subdivision. I was back there a year or so looking at the lots. They are next to the Wieland subdivison over in back of Publics. I saw graves, with toombstones STANDING UP... It was summer so the undergrowth was heavey, but the gravesstones stood out very visibly. It was the last thing I expected to see. Yesterday, I heard the graves had been disturbed. I was not prepaired for what I saw. The upstanding headstones were all gone and a couple of graves I hadn't noticed before because they were covered only with a flat laying piece of concrete were knocked open. The top was off and I couldn't see the body, maybe it had been removed. I couldn't make out the name of the headstone but the date of death was 1860. dollaradayandfound: Clueless commentorsWe need a seperate site for our clueless commentors! dollaradayandfound: Mr GingrichHe doesn't like Universal Health Coverage, although he has it and doesn't pay a dime for his. Those are round numbers but probably low once the work starts.Might it not be better to build a new police station on dry ground that is not over a dump? dollaradayandfound: Local Planned CityIs going downhill fast! dollaradayandfound: O'Reilly: San FranciscoSan Francisco wants the government to stop recruiting college students on campus. kjam: West Mobile Vet Visit in PTCThis past Tuesday, I was a first time user of West Mobile Vet services in PTC. Needless to say, it will be my last. I recently adopted a stray cat who is already a joy in our lives. I was given the info on their web site, seemed to have decent prices, and the man was pleasant on the phone when I called to schedule the appointment. When I arrived in the parking lot of the Kroger (Hwy 54 @ P'tree Pkwy), I was shocked to see so many people there with their pets. I thought this was a good sign, people must trust them with their pets. I completed the sign in sheet & turned my cat over to the vet. He asked very few questions and said "see you at 6pm". I arrived back to the parking lot around 5:15 (hoping he would be ready to go home after surgery), and the female assistant was rude from the minute I walked up to the mobile unit. She rudely said I had to come back at 6pm. I asked how my cat was doing, she replied "I don't know, we have 28 other cats in here and I'm busy doing paperwork". When I was finally called back to the door, she handed me my cat in the carrier, along with his paperwork. I attemped to ask a few questions on how to care for him the next few days after his surgery, scratches on his face, etc & was told "just read the instructions". I paid my bill in cash (that's all they take) and left feeling horrible that I had left my cat in their care for several hours. I hope with all of the other people I saw in the parking lot that day with their "loved one's" they did not have the bad experience I did. I will take my cat to my regular vet, pay the extra money it takes, and know he will be looked after properly. You know the old saying "you get what you pay for", well, yes you do! dollaradayandfound: More economy hypeThe Georgia tax free day for computers, clothing, school supplies, etc., is supposed to promote buying at retail, and supposedly save the taxpayer money. dollaradayandfound: Build the Minnesota bridge, now!In my opinion the bridge that fell WILL be replaced at break-neck speed at whatever it costs in a hurry! cecedupree: TooBad & TyroneSo now that we have all said what is on our minds regarding Barry and Valerie and their possee, let's have a discussion on how to get some new blood on council. dollaradayandfound: Atlanta, Fulton, Dekalb, ClaytonI have an honest question about the governments of the subject counties. You’d leave us just for your family and more money? That’s really hard to believe when you admit you are moving to Ohio. I can’t prove it but I am sure the real reason somehow involves the vast right-wing conspiracy and Diebold voting machines; I just haven’t figured it out yet. Mixer: Remember common sense?"Here's my strategy on the Cold War: We win, they lose." "The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help." Henrietta Bui: Kudos to Terry GarlockMr. Garlock, Thank you for taking the time to pen this thoughtful and refreshing op-ed. When it comes to politicans, I feel that we should-in the words of Ronald Reagan- trust but verify. We need to be on the look out for the Victor Hills, Mark Foleys, and Bill Jeffersons of the world. At the same time, however, we need to understand that many individuals run for public office because they sincerely believe that they can make the world a better place. mudcat: Tail of two citiesI spelled it that way for a reason. The two cities are Peachtree City and Tyrone. The tail is obviously Tyrone - behind in every way from the attitude of its citizens (big lots are better and they keep out the riff raff) to the uninspired leadership and of course the Barry and Valerie problem. speddie1: filming in SenoiaCan anyone tell me what is being filmed in Downtown Senoia? I saw all the trailers today. dollaradayandfound: About Health InsuranceAll health insurance is, when you think about it, is that it is simply a pool of money put in by people and some companies, that each person can draw upon if they need treatment. eodnnaenaj1: Where is itthat Git went for vacation? Sounds like a lovely place, just wondering so I might research for a visit someday. Hope he and his family are having a good good time. Kevin Wandra: What do you think of the Braves trade for Mark Teixeira? The Atlanta Braves made a significant trade yesterday, sending catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia, shortstop Elvis Andrus, pitcher Neftali Feliz and a player to be named later to the Texas Rangers for first baseman Mark Teixeira and left-handed reliever Ron Mahay. |
