loveptc: Blues Travelers

Did anyone else go to their concert this weekend? I didn't pay $50.00 a ticket for this guy to stand with his back to me while he took a couple of cigarette breaks!

dollaradayandfound: My research is clogging!

This is a strange bunch on here! No imagination, no interest in anything much, just living, drinking, rasslin, bragging, showing off, and trying to make the world all alike---Caucasian Nordic, and narrow !

dollaradayandfound: Vick's Plea

If I understand it correctly, I may be in trouble myself!
Vick pled guilty to knowing about dog fighting and even watching dog fighting.

dollaradayandfound: Heroin submersible delivery vehicle

It appears that now we will have to build torpedo nets around the Atlantic and Pacific oceans near our borders.
The US Coast Guard found a partially submerged submarine today, loaded with heroin to be delivered to us. Tons and tons of it!

hutch866: High School Football

hutch866's picture

I'm curious as to why with the season openers for the schools only a week away, why I've seen no articles on the teams, we have 5 high schools and I've seen zilch on the teams.

dollaradayandfound: Quiet as church mice

Proponents of the five year, ill-conceived war in Iraq (forgetting Afghanistan) have little to say these days.
It is now kind of like the national debt, our infrastructure failures, our rampant escalation of health costs, corporate criminals, immoral politicians, failed foreign policy (Rice will get her medal, though), religious fruits and fruit cakes, and white house connivers-----it is best to let them lie silent. Most of them now are lined up to be wealthy, which was the plan all along!

GordonShenkle: Gordon Shenkle to run for Tyrone Council Post 2

Time for a change in Tyrone Leadership! I want to change the way that business is done, to listen to Tyrone citizens, to protect our property values and way of life. I’ve been active in the Tyrone Neighborhood Alliance since it started. I’ve attended Town Council and Planning Board meetings on a regular basis. I have taken the opportunity to speak when appropriate on whatever issue was under consideration.

Kevin Wandra's picture

The NFL season is about to kick-off, and that means fantasy football freaks are out in full force. There is fantasy football information all over the Internet, and if you have been to a bookstore recently, you will find numerous fantasy football guides.

dollaradayandfound: John Warner, Home recession,2 gold stars, tobacco, liquor

I'm sorry, but I suspect that John Warner has agreed to be another
"stalking horse" for a way out of Iraq for the President. Congress in general gets blamed, Bush does not! Shameful.

HOW TO UPHOLD THE HONOUR AND DIGNITY OF JUDICIARY IN INDIA?

Git Real: Scooter Ballard - YOUR District Attorney. I Need Your Money Really Bad.

Git Real's picture

You have to laugh. First of all, you would think that our District Attorney would be bright enough to remove his chief opponent off of his campaign mailing list.

Davids mom: Deliberate acts of kindness

• A little girl lost in one of the stores in the Pavilion, and several people comforting her until her 'lost' mommy was found.

snapfinger: PTC Post Office Customer Service

It would be nice if the PTC Postmaster would keep an eye on how busy they are in the front lobby, and add new people when necessary.

Wow, many of the bloggers on this site should thank their lucky stars that no one knows who they are, because they use their "mysterious cloak" of a user name to spew some really vile garbage.

samsrirao: THE CIVIC NEGLECT BY THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF DELHI (MCD)

CIVIC NEGLECT BY THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF DELHI (MCD)

Madhuban Chowk is a prominent landmark in North-West Delhi dotted by prestigious Management Institutes, a string of reputed Public Schools like Bal Bharati, Technia, Raja Ramamohan Roy and Saroj and Mahavir Heart Institutes/Charitable Hospitals. Fire Safety Management Academy (A Prime Institute of Fire and Disaster Training, the first of its kind in the country are also situated here. The Rohini Courts Complex with an imposing building constructed at a staggering cost of Rs. 100 cr is also located here. It is also the gateway of Rohini reputed to be the largest residential colony in Asia. The most renowned Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Dr B.R. Ambedkar Hospital are only 3 km from this major junction. Popular South Indian Restaurants--Sagar Ratna and Naivedyam are also in close proximity of Madhuban Chowk. The Middle Income Group (MIG) Flats numbering 640 of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) constructed way back in the year 1987 are situated exactly at the crossroads itself giving it a pride of place and providing high connectivity to the nook and corner of the National capital. With Pitampura Metro Station on the other side of the road and an underpass for a smooth flow of heavy vehicular traffic leading to Karnal bypass, the busy junction is a beehive of activity round the clock . However, to its discredit and its ill reputation, this is the only DDA Colony in Sector-8 without a boundary wall posing a serious security threat. The foundation stone for the boundary wall was laid by none other than the first lady IPS of the country Mrs Kiran Bedi in 1997 but the construction was resisted by the shop keepers due to the commercialization of the residential flats. Due to unrestricted entry and trespassing by the anti-social elements, hawkers, waste paper/junk dealers, burglaries and auto-thefts even in broad daylight are a recurring feature. The Colony has since been handed over by DDA to the MCD for its maintenance and the latter is a cesspool of corruption. MCD has totally neglected the sanitation resulting in squalor and filth with an impending danger of outbreak of epidemic diseases. Garbage dumps and litter strewn all over are an ugly sight. Open and choked drains have become an eyesore besides causing mosquito menace. It is high time that for proper maintenance of sanitation, it should be handed over to some private agency.

samsrirao: DEPLORABLE STATE OF CONSUMER COURTS IN INDIA

DEPLORABLE STATE OF CONSUMER COURTS

The State Government of Andhra Pradesh had blown its own trumpet on the progressive steps initiated and the mass awareness said to have been created by it in setting-up Consumer Clubs in various educational institutions for enlightening the basic rights of consumers from the school going age itself to have a salutary effect. Besides, it has made tall claims about the training camps being imparted to voluntary organizations for spreading the message of consumer movement. However, the ground realities are found to be in contrast to the loud proclamations made by it . The Ranga Reddy District Consumers’ Forum has been housed in a small hired building in a very interior location in Dilsukhnagar of Hyderabad which is not easily accessible where even basic seating/drinking water/toilet facilities for the complainants are lacking. Based on my own harrowing experience, I had suggested to make some improvements in my letter dated 26th September, 2004 to Bhanwar Lal, the then Civil Supplies Commissioner of A.P. and the same has not even been acknowledged by him. Some of my suggestions are listed below:-

samsrirao: THE PRICE PAID FOR RAISING VOICE AGAINST INJUSTICE

THE PRICE PAID FOR RAISING VOICE AGAINST INJUSTICE

To my credit, I was the first Agricultural Inspector appointed in South India in July, 1964 by the National Seeds Corporation Ltd (A Govt. of India Undertaking) soon after its formation at its Foundation Seed Unit Mechanized Farm, Thangadencha, Nandikotkur Taluq, Kurnool District, Andhra Pradesh. Prior to that I had served the Central Tobacco Research Institute, Rajahmundry for about 4 years.

samsrirao: JUSTICE DELIVERED IS JUSTICE ELUDED

JUSTICE DELIVERED IS JUSTCE ELUDED

One might have known the popular adage that “Justice delayed is justice denied” and “Justice hastened is justice buried.” Now, a new dictum is coined to depict the official apathy as “JUSTICE DELIVERED IS JUSTCE ELUDED”. National Seeds Corporation Limited (NSC), a Premier Govt. of India Enterprise under the Min. of Agriculture and Co-operation, GOI has provided Central Govt. Health Scheme (CGHS) facilities to its employees working in Delhi and medical reimbursement to other staff posted all over the country. Due to mismanagement, rampant corruption, a rehabilitation centre for Senior IAS Officers who were unwelcome in their parental states, bloated staff strength and also due to curtailment of its activities as a sequel to the formation of State Seed Corporations under the World Bank aided National Seeds Project (NSP), NSC has introduced voluntary retirement in the year 1993 to shed its flab. NSC employees are not entitled for pension or any other fringe benefits after retirement and faced a bleak future. It is baffling to see NSC’s false claim/boasting in its Website that it is WHOLLY OWNED BY GOVERNMENT OF INDIA.. If it is so, why the employees are denied pension whereas their counterparts in Union Govt. enjoy pension.

dollaradayandfound: Golden Calf

I've often wondered just how long Moses was in the mountains, away from his flock who recently escaped from Egypt, since the mob in his absence seemed to have time to gather up a lot of gold and form it into a golden calf to worship! Now, I don't think God would have helped them build this thing, similar to what he did with parting the waters for them to escape, so they must have done it themselves! Either that or a slick golden calf salesman came along on a camel.
