Thank God for anonymity

Wow, many of the bloggers on this site should thank their lucky stars that no one knows who they are, because they use their "mysterious cloak" of a user name to spew some really vile garbage.

Several assume that onlyrealcat is African American and proceed to "dog" him/her about only having "tribal knowledge," needing to "go back and earn a GED," and so on.

They cry about reverse racism coming from onlyrealcat (and I have to admit I don't have the patience to go back and read months and months of these old arguments, so maybe he/she "started it") but in the recent posts the racist ones are these knuckleheads.

Just because your idiot blogger friends are chuckling at their keyboards doesn't mean its funny and if people ever found out who you were, I would hope you'd soon realize just how intolerant and ashamed people are of racism in this day and age.

If all we can do on these blogs is call people names and insult them, we might as well call this Middle School for the Middle Aged and give people like you detention.

Everyone should have learned by now that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

Disagree with people all you want, but let's try to be civil and love our neighbors. Your family, friends, co-workers, fellow parishoners, Jesus and God would be ashamed of your current behavior.

Please follow along or don't "fly off the handle" with a comment.

The real-racist-cat started this. If you are too lazy to go back and read the comments go back to your martini and stop blogging.

The real-racist-cat accused many bloggers myself included of being racist. He based his assumption on how we respond to the increasing crime in Fayette. We are crimest here, many of us are absolutely appalled and frightened by crime. Personally I think the only good criminal is a dead one, but thats just me.

The real-racist-cat was throwing out the race card I believe because he was trying to start trouble. Apparently things are too boring for him on the citizen blogs.

Being called a "racist" when I am not is extremely offending to me. From the response of my fellow bloggers it would seem to be offending to them as well.

If you will read closely many of us are hateful to criminals. Ask yourself why would the real-racist-cat be offended by people expressing an intolerance for crime??????? Why would any normal person root for a criminal???????

Being called a racist is very offensive to me. It is offensive as some of the other bloggers that got kicked off for calling each other sex offenders or pedophiles. The "racist" term or race card is used to bully people.

Racism and reverse racism is never right.

I think you created this blog to start trouble. I think you were trying to turn this into a racist shouting match.

Sorry to disappoint.

I've been reading this stuff all day and felt I should weigh in. If you say something stupid here, be prepared to get slapped upside your head with it and Odoyle, you are one stupid dude.
This isn't a real community, it's an online community and we can say things here that we can't in "polite society." You want a nice conversation? Go have some tea somewhere with other hoity-toity people and you can "tut-tut" all you want.
I tend to think of this place and other blog sites as a talk radio show where you never get kicked off by the host and you can tell the "last caller" what a moron they are.
I can't say who's right and who's wrong in all these strings of blogs - and I don't care either, but you're wrong to try to "encourage" people to be nice and play fair.
There is right and wrong in this world and some people need to be called out for being the (edited) they are.

There is a simple "rule" to follow. Don't respond to or criticize a post or thread and complain about its content when you haven't read all the posts (as you admitted). As "Git" and others have pointed out, "cat" was only getting a dose of what she dished out.

It's interesting that you mention our anonymity. I was speaking to a fellow blogger here (whom I know in real life), and I told him that I always thought it would be interesting if we could all organize a get-together where we wore name tags with our Citizen monikers... I just want to meet Git in Real life Eye-wink , and Tug, and everyone else! And yes, I would love to know who the heck dollar is... I think it would be fabulous to know who in our town is a prime candidate for involuntary commitment...

You will never get me into such a goup! I do not wish to be marginalized in such a manner. I am my own person.

Are you sure you like to meet me? Puzzled What makes you think a 4'2" fat, balding, toothless old troll would be fun to hang around with. In person you would find him grumpy, grouchy, mean, rude, obnoxious, gassy, smelly, drunken, and boisterous. Not to mention the fact that hitting on all the ladies at the party would be the highlight of the night. But, enough about Dollar. Eye-wink Now back to meeting each other. We'd probably be amazed as to who we each are. Smiling

It would be fun at first. But then we'd lose the intrigue of our anonymity.

in·trigue –verb (used with object)

1. to arouse the curiosity or interest of by unusual, new, or otherwise fascinating or compelling qualities; appeal strongly to; captivate: The plan intrigues me, but I wonder if it will work.
2. to achieve or earn by appealing to another's curiosity, fancy, or interest: to intrigue one's way into another's notice.
3. to draw or capture: Her interest was intrigued by the strange symbol.
4. to accomplish or force by crafty plotting or underhand machinations.
5. to carry on a secret or illicit love affair.
6. the use of underhand machinations or deceitful stratagems.
7. such a machination or stratagem or a series of them; a plot or crafty dealing: political intrigues.
8. a secret or illicit love affair.
9. the series of complications forming the plot of a play.

Although I have heard that there are a couple of bloggers on here that have mentioned to others the delight they would relish if they were only able to get their hands around Git Real's neck. Some folks just can't deal with political opposition and accountability very well. With that said... Git Real will not be responding to Westmoreland's phony survey. It's best that his hacks not know where I live. Remember how Westmoreland's boys threatened Cal Beverly last Fall? Yikes... anonymity is good around here. Smiling

Personally, I think the majority of us that you speak of, are merely responding to racist rants espoused by the likes of people like OnlyRealCat. Are we supposed to just shut our mouths, or respond to the crap that they spew? If you think some of us are ugly about it, then you need to go back and read things we're RESPONDING to. (And, as you admitted, you haven't really read the threads...) I don't think a lot of us go into it looking for a fight, but get enraged when others express blatantly racist things, while calling US racists...

I think you're talking to me.

(and I have to admit I don't have the patience to go back and read months and months of these old arguments, so maybe he/she "started it") but in the recent posts the racist ones are these knuckleheads.

First of all the OnlyRealRacist is a nasty predudiced bigot. Period and end of story. In the middle of some good a productive discussions regarding race relations betwee both sides this "Racist Cow" jumps in where her hateful and racist remarks. Sorry dude... she's fair game. If she reaps a bit of venom and sarcasim due to her statements then so be it.

Secondly, if you "admittedly" don't know what we are referring to or what we are talking about then Shut Up. Perhaps spending a bit of time researching the subject at hand might give you a bit more credibility in your name calling and accusations.

Now, let me apologize for my little tantrum in advance. There's somehthing about pedophiles, race baiters, and other bad guys that just sets me off.

Respectfully,

Git the Knucklehead. Smiling

You're right, you're cool and you're perfect.
Nobody needs to try and be a better person and some people just deserve to be viciously slammed.
So much for encouraging people to take the high road.
I felt like some people here needed to hear the voice of reason - we all do from time to time -
Maybe the heat is just getting to everyone - you and me included.
Have a nice day.

I've always had to deal with my urges to jump in the middle of "rasslin match" as Dollar would say. Personally I don't have a problem with people disagreeing with me. My fault is that I enjoy "jacking" with the idiots, racists, and other bad guys on here and worse than that... in real life. Stupid me..... I just can't ignore some of them. Although I'm doing better.

Thanks for the voice of reason Odoyle. For the most part you are right. I just wish you would have picked a better example other than the OnlyRealRacist. Ooops... sorry. I couldn't help myself.

Have an outstanding day sir.

BTW, By your pic..... are you a doctor, lawyer, banker, preacher, bureaucrat or a businessman? Curiosity has killed this cat so many times. Smiling

Sorry if the comments singled you out - to be fair I had read other posts by other posters that seriously tested the level of civil discourse as well - and I would love for everyone to limit the name calling.

I assume we're all adults here (God knows kids would find all of this stuff terribly boring) and it would be great to see debate and discussion without jabs about people being rednecks and closeted Klan members or people speaking ebonics and needing GEDs.

I would hope that people can (and aspire to) be better than that.

To answer your question, I sell paper.
