Scooter Ballard - YOUR District Attorney. I Need Your Money Really Bad.

Git Real's picture

You have to laugh. First of all, you would think that our District Attorney would be bright enough to remove his chief opponent off of his campaign mailing list.

Secondly, Our DA fails to realize that the former prosecutor, Mr. Rudyard Hayes, is merely a second tier candidate behind the true contender Git Real. Smiling

Enjoy the letter. If you have trouble reading between the lines I suppose I could interpret and post the letter for you.

Committee to Re-Elect

Scott Ballard

YOUR District Attorney

Susan Harper - Treasurer

Git Real

Dear Git,

One of my former prosecutors is running against me. He quit effective June 4 and moved into the circuit on June 12. I learned of his candidacy on July 4 when he showed up at the Peachtree City parade in a campaign shirt with a float and campaign items.

So I need your help.

Although I learn every day how we can get better, I’m proud of what we’ve already done. Since beginning to serve in 2005, I’ve staffed the office with pleasant and professional people who like to help the public. Our prosecutors are skilled and accessible. I’ve added investigator positions and filled them with hard workers. State-of-the-art software, obtained at no cost to taxpayers, has made us more efficient. Pre-trial diversion adds a layer of fairness to the system and has collected thousands of dollars in fees for the counties and thousands more in restitutions for victims. We’ve supported law enforcement by creating a fulltime position to attend to their needs, by being available the them around the clock and by sponsoring a banquet to honor them. With Federal grants we’ve expanded services to crime victims and now have a specialized unit to assist women who are victims of domestic violence. We’re on the right track.

It’s expensive to run a race in four counties. Will you contribute to my campaign? I’ve enclosed a self-addressed envelope and a Volunteer Checklist. If I can count on your support, please use the envelope to contribute financially and enclose also the completed checklist so that we can include you later in the campaign. Checks should be made to the order of Committee to Re-Elect Scott Ballard. State law limits donations to $2000.00 per donor and requires that we report the name, employer, occupation and mailing address of each donor who contributes over $100.00.

Thanks so very much for your support and vote. I will continue to strive to deserve the trust you’ve placed in me.

Sincerely,

Scott Ballard

We now know what Scott Ballard’s Re-Election campaign will be-----" I have been gentle on defendants and I have helped dole out tax dollars so re-elect me.” Sorry, Scooter, but we are not interested in a District Attorney who hands out beer coozies at parades and throws tax dollars off of a campaign float. We want a District Attorney who punishes criminals, puts them in prison and makes them very, very, very sorry they even crossed the Fayette County line.

Let’s look at Ballard’s own words:

“I learn every day how we can get better”------ does this mean that you will quit testifying as a character witness for child molesters? Come out and admit that that was a huge error and promise never to do it again.

“Pre-trial diversion adds a layer of fairness to the system…” -----Huh ??? Your job is not to be sweet and kind to the criminals. If they deserve leniency, that’s for the judge. It sounds like Scooter and all judges are all for avoiding trials. If a cop says the perp committed a crime, a magistrate agrees and a grand jury agrees it ain’t bedwetting time, Scooter, its time to punish.

“We’ve supported law enforcement by creating a fulltime position to attend to their needs, by being available the them around the clock and by sponsoring a banquet to honor them. “------- You give the cops a damn meal and that means something? Gimme a break.

“With Federal grants we’ve expanded services to crime victims…” ---- translated it means that you took some slop from the trough like everybody else and it was our money in the first place and we should thank you.

Again, Scooter, it ain’t about you handing out beer coozies its about making criminals FEAR FAYETTE COUNTY.

I don’t think we can afford much more of this OJT.

Lockemup is a moron. Hasn't a clue what he's spouting since he's never practiced law or defended or prosecuted a case. I have. Scott is plenty tough on the accused and is no push over in the court room. He has an excellant staff. He's certainly better than his back stabbing former Deputy Assistant who worked for Ballard's office for about 10 minutes.

Just think about this, all of us moron's who have never practiced law, or defended or prosecuted a case, us the unwashed masses, get to pick who the DA is, God what a great country. I've met the man and his family, very nice people, but I don't think he's right to be our DA.

I yam what I yam....Popeye

Does Ballard’s staff have the same excellent education that produced your grammar and spelling? I may not have gone to law school but I can proofread my arrest reports obviously better than Scooter can proofread his indictments.

LOL

Enough failed OJT already...

Can you say “Ready for Defeat” ?

Yeah, he's tough on guys who have an altercation in a school bathroom. That's the end of the world! Now, if you bring an arsenal of weapons to Whitewater, that's cool. If you're child molester, he'll travel to say some good words for your sick self so that maybe you can continue to violate your probation yet again.

He's a joke and Fayette will be much better off after his upcoming defeat. There is nothing "tough" about a guy who sounds like a redneck with a lisp hamming it up for TV when there is a murder like the Benoit episode. I'm not surprised at all that Maxwell is once again working on his campaign, but Maxwell will get his turn to become an ex-politican next time.

Ballard.....READY FOR DEFEAT!

Scooter Ballard deserves the Patsy Cline treatment, too. As in--- Cal Beverly's Editorial on flip-flopping politicians making him "Crazy" for voting for them.

Ballard's campaign slogan was "Ready for Trial". Now he touts helping criminals avoid trial with his PreTrial Diversion program because it is "nicer" and "fairer".

What a fraud.

To borrow from Patsy-- her first big hit--- I would like to see Scooter "Walking after Midnight".

I think it's a smart political move to add not only your "chief" opponent but all opposition including any candidate or potential candidate on your mailing list.

Keep things positive and factual and feed them anything you want them to have.

Good strategy.... but I doubt that it was done intentially.... he just bought a mailing list and went from there.
