Mr Gingrich

He doesn't like Universal Health Coverage, although he has it and doesn't pay a dime for his. He doesn't like Social Security, or anything like it, yet he has a huge pension, paid by us at no cost to him.
Just the type we need as President, or Vice-President!
He has never worked a day since he left West Georgia, yet he is a multi-millionaire, made so by other authors, the government, and party faithful,(jobs supplied with no schedule) and lobbyists.
Just what we need!

This is for everyone who is left of center.

From the AJC,

If you’re a betting man, you have to like Democrats’ chances of taking over the White House next year, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said early this morning.

“The odds are fairly significant that that the left will win next year. My personal bet is that it’ll be a Clinton-Obama ticket. I think they have a very high likelihood of winning,” Gingrich told business leaders at a gathering of the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce.

Now that crack by ole Newt is as surely only to work up the Cobb redneks as anything he has ever said!
In other words, if you don't want that, vote for me!
There is not a chance in hell that Clinton would select Obama to be her Vice-president, and Newt knows it!
She already has enough black votes to win any state where they exist in numbers.
You can bet on a Shalala, or someone of that ilk, probably not a woman, if Clinton gets the nomination. I'm not certain she will---she can easily self-destruct within the next six or so months.
Gingrich is selling books and his high-paying company---nothing else!
Guys like Gingrich, Oreilly, Hannity, Limburger, and a dozen "conservative talk radio and TV people are done for soon.
Giuliana might get 30% of the vote against any democrat. He is a dud and not a conservative by any measure. His program and budgets would be all business and he would never find a state like Mississippi, Alabama, Maine, Idaho, etc., much less help those people or any other ordinary people for that matter.
Newt didn't say vote for Romney did he?

Everyone wants to say the $-dude is off topic, some say he should be banned for taking up space. Where in all of your retortells (my word) do you address anything about the blog & the Newtster?
50 states..52 states..15 teritories.
You are as quilty as him and I think Cal should ban you.

it's not "everyone wants to say" it should read "a lot have said". As for banning, I don't have an avatar promoting a ban on $. Perhaps you're thinking of someone else.

You'll have to show me where I said $ is off topic, I just asked him a question, and I have never said he should be banned. Lets see, you dog Bush for not going to Vietnam and at the same time say you were a draft resister, Bush did more then you, you also say that PTC police shouldn't trap the child molesters on the internet, so I have to say the only way I would be worried about anything you say is if you agreed with me.

The AJC had this today. I guess we can say he knows up from down, so he'd be an improvement over Duby. I wonder where he was on this in the beginning? The Iraq thing & WMD's I mean.

Washington — Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Thursday the Bush administration is waging a "phony war" on terrorism, warning that the country is losing ground against the kind of Islamic radicals who attacked the country on Sept. 11, 2001.

$-dude..you left out the Republican Family Values and his multiple marriages. The hypocrisy of pursuing Clinton, while in the midst of his own affair.

Submitted by dollaradayandfound on Sat, 08/04/2007 - 3:36pm.

Said early about the 9/11 fiasco: "anyone who doesn't believe we are at war is crazy."

Now, he says: Bush has been fighting a phony war since 9/11 (for the benefit of voters).

He blusters!!!!!!

A Newt Rebuttal

In Newt's favor, I invite all to visit www.americansolutions.com and become familiar with his views and thoughts. He has two video's that strongly reinforce his positions. To name a few:
He would like to Win the Future; i.e. preserve for our children the best hope of man on the earth. To accomplish this, he would like to empower each citizen to play a role in charting such a course.
He advocates broad scale engagement of elected officials and candidates of both parties at all levels of government.
Develop and implement breakthrough solutions to the most important issues facing the country.
His goal is to Listen, Learn, Help and Teach; i.e. Listen to find out why people believe as they do, Learn what the resistance is, Help people see another perspective and help them validate the presented idea(s) and finally, Teach them the presented goal.
As for Newt's wealth, a little history will show that he is a professor and teaches. His almost daily appearances on televisions premiere shows and talk radio has earned him recognition as a most credible and intelligent man.
We can only hope that he decides to enter into the Presidential race as a Republican.

Win the future?
Best hope of man on the earth (what is it?)
Empower each citizen... (how)
Broad scale engagement of officials....(?)
Implement breakthrough solutions (what and how)
goal is to listen, learn, help, and teach (teach what?)
See another perspective? (His?)
Teach them the presented goal (all 300 million of us?)
Professor and teacher (where and what) used to a little at a low salary!
If he does run it will certainly be as a republican, which he has pretty much hated lately! He wouldn't get 6 democratic votes nationwide!
He should have "taught" (if he is a good teacher) his wives to behave!
We can only hope? (what?) If your best hope, you are hurting for hope.

Submitted by dollaradayandfound on Sat, 08/04/2007 - 12:26pm.

As best that I can tell, republican family values has nothing to do with three wives---whether they left you or you left them (sick), and others who might do the same kind of things are wrong to people like Gingrich, because he means well----they don't.
Hypocrisy is a word not in the republican manual. Thinking ahead is also not in the manual.
Just how much time do you think people like Karl Rove have thought about such things as the USA infrastructure, making ourself independent of oil, as has France nearly, overhauling our electrical power generation and national grids, rebuilding or repairing thousands of dangerous dams, stopping the flow of our manufacturing to China, etc., paying off some of our debt instead of adding to it (Bush's promise of a five year balanced budget), Re-establishing our railroads as a back up transportation system for us and in case of war, for the military, and on and on?
These people are thinkers. They want to depend entirely on business and the 50 states to do it all. Our Secretary of transportation would allow Halliburton to own and run our roads tomorrow, if she could. (toll roads).
The fifty states would never have built one mile of Interstate!
Businesses would run the roads for a profit and ration them to us.
I tell you, these people are extremely dangerous!

If you want to insinuate that I don't know how many states there are, and you do, it is ok. It wouldn't matter if there were 49 or 53, the logic is the same, the number is in error, or has a different meaning.
Anyway what could Puerto Rico or American Samoa contribute to anything? Both are totally welfare states.

You simply don't get it, do you?
By implication, meaning is and has been that there are simply too many states, territories, etc., to manage the USA as a whole or each to his own! You know that!
We lost more lives than ever in a US war fighting for the United States---not American Samoa! (now did you understand that about American Samoa representing my meaning for all of them? Or are you a Military type? Stickler for numbers adding up, such as 2 plus 2= 5
If you count the US Supreme Court!

Cyclist's picture
Submitted by Cyclist on Sat, 08/04/2007 - 5:11pm.

read "My implication" rather than "By implication"? I'm not a stickler about things adding up but, your thoughts are so scattered and rambling no one can possibly get your message. Is this your intent? For example, you state "We lost more lives than ever in a US war fighting for the United States". Are you referring to the war between the states or the war of indepence? Furthermore, how does this tie-in with American Samoa?

You might see it clearly in your mind but if you wish to convey that thought in this medium you have to be a bit clearer. Finally, what was your intention about the statement "If you count the US Supreme Court!".

What war did we lose the most people in the uSA?

The US Supreme Court counts in Florida elections, when they overrule states rights (the FL Supreme Court). So 5/4 decisions do count as 5.

You get the message, you just don't like it!

All this crap by republicans is coming home to roost. Need that explained?

no one can understand you. You hide and wrap your thoughts in events without connection. You know that and I know that and hell, everyone else knows that. I'm not the only one that has commented about "dollar talk". You might think it's so cute but you're becoming less relevant on this board (kind of similar to what the White House recently said about President Carter). Honestly, if you want to be taken seriously you need to convey your ideas so the reader understands what you're trying to say.

I'm not in a popularity contest here, nor do I need agreement on everything, or anything.
When I see a problem with anything with which I am familiar, I say it is a problem: I don't care what party or philosophy, or if it is my friend, I still say what I think.
Hypocrites are the worst form of humanity due to the lessons they impart to children and young adults. We have more of them now than ever in my entire long life. It seems to be a way of life for many.
As to "dollar talk," I do use a great deal of satire, substitute reasoning, humor, irony, and other examples not connected to your subject, for instance. You may have to re-read some of it.
Also, this is not a place to constantly be correcting grammar--that is for editors and prudes. Especially when it is obviously done deliberately. This is conversation, not treatises!
Go ahead if you want to call Ted Kennedy a murdering drunk, and Harry Reid a squeaky idiot, I don't mind! That is your opinion, maybe!

You say this is not the place to be correcting grammer, yet you do it to other people when it suits your purposes so therefore that makes you one of those hypocrites you accuse others of being like when you say you are for the younger enlisted men in the service then turn around and call them stupid for enlisting.
