More economy hype

The Georgia tax free day for computers, clothing, school supplies, etc., is supposed to promote buying at retail, and supposedly save the taxpayer money.
It generally doesn't in the overall!
I have researched and viewed just what and who is buying this stuff. More than half of it is not for school kids, number one. As they advertise. Number two, much of this merchandise is special purchases by retailers just for these special days. There is little "sale" stuff among it and the prices are generally higher than usual due to being special purchases, which means no price comparison is available!
Once the tax day is over, the prices will be changed down as usual, or soon thereafter.
I don't like crap like this.
