The Surge

We are told this week that the surge in Iraq is working---as opposed to two weeks ago, it was not.
I wish I knew what "working" meant!
I just saw a report where fully 40 percent of Iraqis do not have running water, electricity, and services, and many others are rationed seriously.
Nothing works after four years!
All the guns we gave the Iraqi military have been half-stolen now....can't be accounted for at all!
Do the Jihadists have them?
One third of the Parliament has resigned, and the other two thirds quit for a month due to the heat.
Kids are drinking water that is contaminated, and eating food that is spoiled from lack of refrigeration and the raising of fresh meat and vegetables.
The surge is working? Is this the preliminary bragging before we abandon the people and head for the embassy?
If we headed for the border I would be in favor, but not anywhere nearby. We will be right back into it when the pressure reduces here.

the surge was to help the Iraqi's make political decisions such as how to divide up the oil money 3 ways when only the Kurds and Shia live on oil producing lands.

Instead the Shia amd their Death Squads (security forces) who have been murdering Sunni at an average of 20-25 per day for 2 years, have refused to make any compromise legislation and have used our weapons for vengeance.

The Sunni (same as our good friends the Saudis) we tired of getting their butts kicked, started attacking our troops and attacking Shia areas with car bombs. In need of a reason to keep our fingers on Iraqi oil we blamed all of the carnage of Al Qaida Iraq Now we are making peace with the Sunni under the story they will fight AQ and so we are giving them the same weapons we have given the Shia. They only promise to not attack US Forces for the time being not their Shia countrymen.

The Iraqi government takes August off, sort of like our Congress to vacation away from the heat and humidity of the big city.

Who can blame them
